On June 7, information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Long An province said that it had coordinated with the Border Guard, the Economic Zone Management Board and localities in the border area of Long An province to accompany the survey team to build and develop new tourism products chaired by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism.

With the name "Colors of the Border Region", the new tourism product will be a journey taking visitors back to the source at historical sites, landmarks, border gates... along the southwestern border route, from Ho Chi Minh City to the provinces of Long An, Dong Thap, An Giang, Kien Giang .

Ms. Le Thi Hong Thuy - Deputy Director of Long An Tourism Promotion Information Center - said that on the Long An border defense route, the survey team visited Binh Hiep International Border Gate and Binh Hiep International Border Gate Border Guard Station, Long Khot Border Guard Station National Historical Site and Long Khot Border Guard Station... and border markers.

Long An Border Guard guided the delegation with many interesting details related to historical sites, border posts, and landmarks in the spirit of the theme of pride in the border region that the survey delegation proposed.

Along with that are detailed exchanges on necessary procedures when exploiting tourism, the work of picking up and dropping off guests to ensure national security and defense, helping to promote the full value and historical significance of border relic sites, the role of border gates and landmarks in the work of protecting the Fatherland associated with economic development.

"This will be a product that contributes to the economic, cultural and social development of border areas, in line with the policy of promoting economic development in border areas that the State has long paid attention to building.

Historical sites, landmarks, and border gates are inherently a great tourism potential. Because the sacred border emotion combined with the psychology of learning about life, the work of protecting the Fatherland is always a factor that stimulates tourists to experience," Ms. Thuy added.

Until now, the journey to landmarks, border gates, and borders often only appeared in backpacking trips, or only briefly in overland travel routes abroad. Having a well-organized travel itinerary on the southwestern border is highly anticipated.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism is coordinating with Ben Thanh Tourism Service Joint Stock Company to design this journey into an attractive and unique source tourism product, capable of attracting visitors to the southwestern border region in particular and to the Mekong Delta in general.

After the survey, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism is inviting the Department of Culture and the Border Guard Commands of Long An, Dong Thap, An Giang, and Kien Giang provinces to work to report in detail on the content of building and exploiting this unique resource tourism program.
