After 2 days with 10 discussion sessions, on the afternoon of June 20, at the National Convention Center ( Hanoi ), the 2nd National Press Forum closed with the participation of many delegates and representatives of leaders of press management agencies, departments, sectors, enterprises, news agencies, central and local press.

In his closing speech, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh, Head of the Steering Committee of the National Press Festival 2025, affirmed that the 2nd National Press Forum was a success, becoming an impressive highlight in the series of activities celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, an event that has attracted special attention from the press and the public over the past two days.

Mr. Le Quoc Minh highly appreciated the efforts, enthusiasm and dedication of nearly 70 speakers for the National Press Forum 2025, and affirmed that the large participation with a very high sense of responsibility, the special interest and concern of hundreds of delegates who are journalists, leaders of press agencies, press managers, journalism students and the public who love journalism... have brought the Forum 12 sessions of real quality.

In particular, 10 thematic discussion sessions at the Forum were organized methodically and scientifically , with highly topical topics and rich content, attracting great attention from the press and the public.

"I know that many sessions had to be extended longer than expected. After the sessions ended, many speakers and guests stayed behind to continue the conversation and exchange with the guests. Many audiences were very hesitant and regretful about choosing to attend when many interesting discussion sessions took place in parallel in the auditoriums at the same time... It can be said that, looking at the lively discussion sessions with no empty seats, it can be affirmed that the 2025 National Press Forum was successful beyond the expectations of the Organizing Committee," Mr. Le Quoc Minh affirmed.

In the context of the world changing strongly under the impact of digital technology, artificial intelligence and globalization, Vietnamese press is facing unprecedented challenges, while opening up great opportunities if it knows how to proactively adapt and innovate. In particular, the rise of social media videos and news based on individuals is a huge challenge, directly affecting mainstream press agencies.

The new era brings many opportunities for journalism to assert its leading role. In the context of AI prevailing and creating huge content, in order to maintain its existence and sustainable development, the only solution is for journalism to focus on content quality and core values.

Journalism must redefine its mission, not to report the news fastest but to bring the deepest, most trustworthy value.

These concerns are the main topics of discussion at this year's National Press Forum. This is not only an intellectual and dialogue space for journalists across the country, but also a place to open up ways for the Vietnamese press to innovate and create in the spirit of Resolution 57 and Resolution 18, towards a truly professional, modern and humane press in the era of national development.

At the first session with the theme “Vietnamese press in the new era: Vision for creating development space,” delegates and experts discussed in depth the challenges, opportunities as well as key solutions for sustainable development of Vietnamese press.

The discussion session on "Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation Strategy of Vietnamese Press Offices" attracted a lot of attention from leaders, experts and journalists in general when discussing in depth about how artificial intelligence (AI) is opening up unprecedented opportunities for the Vietnamese press and media industry.

From improving content quality to increasing social impact, helping newsrooms adapt to the digital age and meet the public's growing need for information.

Session 5 with the theme “Revenue in the digital age: Not just advertising, newspapers must sell more,” the speakers affirmed that now, a newsroom is not only faced with the problem of “writing well” or “working quickly” but must answer a bigger question: how to have enough money for the newspaper to operate, can the newspaper stand on its own merits without being dependent?

Several in-depth discussion sessions such as “Female leaders in journalism: Women's voices in news management,” “Conquering Gen Z readers: Decoding the formula for success,” “Television adapts to the new media environment,” “What mechanism to develop radio in the current period,” “Personalizing content to keep readers loyal,” “Data is the root of the modern newsroom”…, brought a lot of useful content to readers.

In particular, the 10th discussion session of the Forum on the hot topic “Resolution 18 and the requirement for innovation of press personnel” attracted the public and professionals. Resolution 18, with the goal of streamlining the political system, required the press to be “more compact” to be “stronger.”

However, streamlining is not just about merging, downsizing or cutting staff. It is also about how we streamline to optimize resources, reduce waste and improve operational efficiency. This is an opportunity for press agencies to innovate organizational models, build convergent newsrooms, modernize work processes... This is also the time for training institutions to innovate their methods of training students from school...

Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh affirmed that with careful preparation from the Organizing Committee, from the efforts of hundreds of speakers, media experts, and famous journalists, the 2nd National Press Forum in 2025 was a success, an important highlight, opening up creative space, raising the strategic level for Vietnamese revolutionary journalism on the journey to rise up with the nation, worthy of a professional, humane, and modern journalism./.
