Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of leaders of agencies under the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; leaders of agencies and units inside and outside the army, along with a large number of artists, officers, soldiers and people of the capital.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Thu Dung, Director of the People's Army Cinema, emphasized: During the historic days of August, together with the people of the whole country looking towards the country's important historical event - the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army directed the People's Army Cinema to coordinate with agencies under the General Department of Politics and units to organize the Anniversary Film Week.

This is a very practical activity contributing to the dissemination of historical values, significance, and lessons learned over the past 80 years of our nation under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, expressed through cinematic works and valuable documentary films of the country's cinema.
During the fierce years of resistance, cinema accompanied the army and people in fighting the enemy. The hardships and sacrifices were fully reflected by cinema, the real issues of the resistance war; the will of our army and people in fighting and winning. - Colonel Nguyen Thu Dung, Director of People's Army Cinema.
The August Revolution of 1945 and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam opened a new brilliant page in the history of our nation. Under the leadership of the Party and the great President Ho Chi Minh , the entire Vietnamese people rose up together, broke the shackles of colonialism and feudalism, and regained the right to be masters of the nation's destiny. From the status of slaves, our people became masters of the country - that was a great victory of patriotism, of the great solidarity of the whole people, of Vietnamese intelligence and mettle.
After 80 years of many changes and challenges, the spirit of that historic autumn is still the guiding light, fueling the aspiration for independence, freedom and happiness. From a poor country devastated by war, Vietnam today has risen strongly, becoming an independent, peaceful, integrated and sustainably developed nation. That achievement is the crystallization of the blood sacrifices of many generations, a vivid demonstration of the Party's correct line and the strength of great national unity.

During the fierce years of resistance, cinema accompanied the army and people in fighting the enemy. The hardships and sacrifices were fully reflected by cinema, the real issues of the resistance; the will of our army and people in fighting and winning. Cinema works are a mirror reflecting the history, aspirations and spirit of "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom" of the Vietnamese people; contributing to helping the Vietnamese people and people around the world better understand the value of independence, freedom and peace, reviving heroic memories, spreading patriotism to millions of hearts", Colonel Nguyen Thu Dung emotionally shared.
The Film Week Organizing Committee will screen 8 films, including 4 documentaries and 4 feature films produced by the People's Army Cinema and domestic film studios.

To prepare well for the event, the People's Army Cinema proactively advised, proposed, and carefully selected documentary and feature films of the unit and domestic film studios on the subject of soldiers and revolutionary war, with high value in content and artistic quality.
Through the films, artists and the public will together review the glorious past, pay tribute to the great contributions of previous generations, heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, veteran comrades... and all those who have spared no blood and bones, contributing to the cause of national liberation. At the same time, they will feel more clearly the great achievements that the country has achieved in peace and innovation, affirming the path to socialism that our Party and people have chosen.

In the context of the entire people, the entire army, and the entire political system focusing on implementing the institutional revolution, towards the era of national development, the Film Week is an event of profound and practical significance; it is both an opportunity for us, through cinematic works, to remember and pay tribute to the heroic generation who won independence and unification for the country; and an opportunity to inspire today's generation, especially the youth, with the spirit of patriotism, solidarity, and the aspiration to build an increasingly prosperous and developed Vietnam.

The organizers believe that the films shown on this special anniversary will attract the attention, acceptance and recognition of a large audience. This is also an opportunity for the People's Army Cinema to make more efforts, continue to promote and contribute to creating good films to serve the public and affirm the position and role of soldiers making films with topics about the armed forces, revolutionary war, and building a national defense today.
Immediately after the Opening Ceremony, the audience enjoyed two opening films: the documentary "Cultural features in Ho Chi Minh's military ideology" (screenwriter Nguyen Sy Chung; director - People's Artist Luu Quy) and the feature film "Where we don't belong" (screenwriter, director - Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen).

Although it was rainy in Hanoi on the evening of August 26, many officers, soldiers and people of the capital were still present early at the unit's multi-purpose hall to attend the Opening Ceremony and enjoy the films rich in historical value.
The solemn and warm atmosphere of military-civilian relations was created by the careful preparation and enthusiastic reception of the organizing unit, making the audience feel attached, proud and moved when reliving together the heroic memories of the nation through the screen.

After the first documentary was screened, many viewers could not hide their emotions.
