"Red Rain" surpasses 150 billion VND in revenue

On the evening of August 26, the historical war film “Red Rain” officially surpassed the 150 billion VND mark in box office revenue. As of 10:00 a.m. on August 27, the film was at 159 billion VND in revenue.

According to data from the independent statistics unit on box office revenue in Vietnam, Box Office Vietnam, the movie "Red Rain" has reached a revenue of 159.167 billion VND as of 10:00 a.m. on August 27.

This is an unprecedented revenue level for a historical, revolutionary war film. Before “Red Rain”, in 2025, the film “Tunnel: The Sun in the Dark” also created a fever in revenue and earned about 172 billion VND (according to Box Office Vietnam). This revenue level has been considered high for a film with the theme of revolutionary war, but will be easily surpassed by “Red Rain” in a short time.

“Red Rain” is also the first revolutionary war film to reach 100 billion VND in revenue after only 4 days of release, and now it is 150 billion VND after only 6 days of release.

“Red Rain” is a fictional film inspired by the 81-day and night battle at Quang Tri Citadel , produced by the People's Army Cinema, directed by Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen. This is the third film with the theme of revolutionary war to be released commercially in theaters, after the pilot case of “Peach, Pho and Piano” in early 2024 and “Tunnel: Sun in the Dark” released on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

The film features many young artists, some of whom are making their first foray into cinema, but it also brings a lot of emotions to viewers.

Currently, "Red Rain" is the movie with the most showings in theaters.
