For candidates taking the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program, they will take 2 elective subjects from the remaining 9 subjects studied in grade 12 including: Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic & Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology.

The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) arranges candidates to stay in one room for the entire exam, even if the subjects chosen are different. Therefore, an optional subject can be tested in both time slots. For example, room 1 has candidates choosing Physics, taking the exam in time slot 1 (from 7:35 to 8:25). Room 2 also has candidates taking Physics, but in time slot 2 (8:40 - 9:30).

In an examination room, candidates can take 5 subjects at the same time. Candidates sit in one room for all three exams, without having to move around like in previous years. With this new regulation, candidates will not be disturbed by the exam room. Sitting in one room for all three exams also helps candidates feel more comfortable.

To ensure exam security, each elective subject will have 48 test codes, divided equally between two time slots. Candidates taking the first exam will be given test codes from 1 to 24, and candidates taking the second exam will be given test codes from 25 to 48. In previous years, all subjects had 24 test codes (except for the Literature exam, which was an essay test).
The Ministry of Education and Training also requires that exams be collected by room, not by subject like previous years.

At the 2025 High School Graduation Examination Council of Lam Dong province, the subjects that candidates choose to take the exam the most are: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Foreign Languages. Subjects that appear for the first time such as Information Technology and Technology have very few candidates choosing.
Also this morning, more than 26,700 candidates will take the exam according to the old program (2006) with the Natural Science or Social Science exam, and in the afternoon they will continue with the Foreign Language exam.

This morning, at 40 examination sites in Lam Dong, there were no cases of candidates violating examination regulations.
