Extend the exhibition time

The exhibition of national achievements with the theme “80 years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness” opened on August 28 at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (Dong Anh Commune, Hanoi ). According to the original plan, the exhibition lasted until September 5.

However, in order to meet the needs and aspirations and create conditions for people to have more time to visit and experience the National Achievements Exhibition on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day, the Prime Minister requested the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to assess the actual situation and the number of visitors. Report to the Prime Minister on the possibility of extending the exhibition time from 10 to 15 days compared to the original plan.

Given the large number of visitors in recent days, extending the exhibition will create more opportunities for people to visit and experience, thereby spreading the message about Vietnam's 80-year journey of construction and development.

According to the Exhibition Organizing Committee, after only 3 days of free opening (August 28 - August 30), the National Achievements Exhibition with the theme "80 years of the journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" welcomed more than 1.18 million visitors and this number continued to increase in the following days.

People want to extend the exhibition time

Reporters' observations at the Exhibition in recent days show that many people also expressed their wish that the National Achievements Exhibition be extended, instead of the Closing Ceremony as originally planned on the evening of September 5.

With the attraction of the Exhibition that has been and is taking place, many people wish to extend the time to have more opportunities for those who live far away, or have not been to the Exhibition which was quite crowded recently, to visit and experience.

Sharing about her visit to the Exhibition, teacher Nguyen Thi Thu Huong (Thu Lam commune, Hanoi) said: The exhibition is so grand and large in scale. I often passed by the Exhibition area when it was still under construction, but I did not think it would actually be so large and have so many meaningful items. When I saw the contents displayed here, I was very proud of the country and people of Vietnam.

"All areas are attractive, engaging the public and giving us a fairly general view of the 80-year journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness, just like the name of this year's Exhibition theme," Ms. Huong said.

Ms. Huong added: But to be honest, the exhibition is so large that we could not finish it in half a day and could not fully experience the spaces of the 34 provinces and cities, so I really hope the exhibition will be extended so that I can come here again. At the same time, I will introduce my students, friends and relatives to come here.

Journalist and writer Nguyen Xuan Thuy (Military Literature Magazine) shared: "The general feeling about the exhibition "80 years - Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" is quite grand, overwhelming, with highlights, overview and details, in which there is an emphasis on cultural elements".

"I think with such elaborate preparation, the event should be extended, or even organized for students from not too far away to visit as an extracurricular activity at the beginning of the school year," writer Nguyen Xuan Thuy suggested.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tuong ( Hai Phong ) shared about the difficult journey by car from Hai Phong to visit the Exhibition. He was quite surprised and proud of the massive construction as well as the beautiful spaces with their own local identity. At the Exhibition, he enjoyed many cultural programs, quite new experiences and the attractiveness of the equipment displayed here.

"I wanted to see carefully every booth and space because it is not easy to have the opportunity to visit an exhibition with so much meaningful and attractive content like this, but because of that, I could not see everything in the afternoon. I also shared this information with my relatives, they also wanted to arrange to visit the Exhibition, so I really want the Exhibition to be extended" - Mr. Tuong shared.

In addition to expressing his wish for the Exhibition to be extended like many others, Mr. Tuong also had some suggestions: I also hope that the authorities will direct traffic more conveniently, and that the Organizing Committee will arrange more spaces and resting chairs because indeed, with such a large area, many people will feel "quite tired" walking.

The National Achievements Exhibition has become a “must-see” destination for many people during this year’s Great Festival. Not only that, the Exhibition has also become the largest-ever cultural and political event in Vietnam, affirming the appeal of the nation’s “80-year Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness”.
