On the evening of October 21, Mr. Le Minh Tuyen - Head of the Hanoi Forest Protection Department said that over the past two days, there have been consecutive forest fires in Minh Tri and Minh Phu communes (Soc Son district) for environmental protection.
The forest fire occurred at 9:45 p.m. on October 19, at lot 4.3, section 9, the 2008 adjusted map of the environmental protection forest planning of Soc Son district, in Dong Mai area, Minh Tan village.
Due to the fire at night, thick vegetation, high and dangerous mountain terrain combined with strong winds, the work of approaching and extinguishing the fire encountered many difficulties. By 11:30 p.m. on October 19, the fire had spread to lot 2.1 + 3.1, section 1 of the forest area of Minh Phu commune.

Upon receiving the news, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Soc Son district mobilized more than 400 people, along with many vehicles, machinery and equipment to focus on extinguishing the fire.
The fire was completely extinguished by authorities at around 10 p.m. on October 20. Local authorities are assessing the damage and continuing to investigate the cause of the forest fire.
