Guidance on compiling socio-economic indicators to serve provincial and communal party congresses after the merger

On the morning of June 24, the General Statistics Office ( Ministry of Finance ) held an online conference to deploy and guide the development of socio-economic indicators to serve the development of documents for the provincial and commune-level Party Congresses (new) for the 2025-2030 term. At the Da Nang bridge, there were more than 100 delegates attending, including leaders and specialized teams from communes, wards (new) and related departments and branches. At the conference, delegates were introduced to the development and clarification of the content of a number of key socio-economic indicators to serve the provincial and commune-level Party Congresses for the 2025-2030 term; guidance on completing the data series for the 2010-2025 period, determining target indicators for the 2025-2030 period of localities after the merger; Guide localities to compile a series of data at the commune level (new) to assess the current situation and develop a socio-economic development plan for the next period.

According to Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, the conference was held in the context that the entire political system is focusing on preparing for the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, towards the 14th National Party Congress. The development of congress documents requires a system of statistical data that fully and comprehensively reflects the economic, social and environmental fields, ensuring consistency, uniformity, comparability and feasibility in measurement and quantification, serving as a basis for evaluating the results of the past term and determining the directions, goals, targets and development tasks for the next term. This is the first time the Ministry of Finance has proposed and chaired the development of this set of indicators to create consistency, synchronization and ensure comparability between provinces, cities and communes and wards nationwide.
