Cooperation to promote cultural values at metro stations

Thu Duc Ward wishes to spread cultural, knowledge, tourism, and commercial service values in the area through metro trains.

On August 9, the People's Committee of Thu Duc Ward and the Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HCMC) held a signing ceremony to implement a program to promote and develop culture, tourism , trade and services associated with the operation of the stations of the Urban Railway No. 1 (Metro No. 1) in Thu Duc Ward in 2025. Comrade Dang Minh Thong, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee attended.

Chairwoman of Thu Duc Ward People's Committee Nguyen Thi Mai Trinh said that Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) is both a key traffic project and an opportunity for Thu Duc Ward to reshape urban space, promote socio -economic development, promote cultural values, especially enhance tourism, trade and services in areas near the stations.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Trinh expressed that Thu Duc ward is very honored to be named Thu Duc - a land rich in cultural and traditional values - where there are also many educational institutions and diverse communities. Therefore, Thu Duc ward wishes to spread cultural, intellectual, tourism, and commercial service values in the area through non-stop metro trains carrying thousands of people, students, and pupils to work, study, and play.

At the program, the Thu Duc Ward Youth Union and the Youth Union of Urban Railway Company No. 1 also signed a cooperation agreement to develop Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space at metro stations in the ward. This is the first station out of 14 stations along Metro Line No. 1 to have Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space.

Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space includes a space to display images, documents, books, publications, paintings and artifacts about the life, career, ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh; and the achievements of Vietnamese youth following his example.

The Youth Unions of the two units also set up comfortable reading areas, providing a variety of documents about Uncle Ho, national history, heroic examples, and cultural celebrities. Integrating interactive technologies (touch screens, QR codes) to enhance the viewer experience.

From today's signing ceremony, the two units hope to gradually exploit the effective operation of Metro Line 1, combining the promotion of the image, traditional cultural values, and inherent resources of Thu Duc Ward. At the same time, promote tourism and domestic consumption through the public transport system; promote cashless payments; contribute to the development of the local economy, culture, and society; build Thu Duc Ward to develop more and more...

At the program, Urban Railway Company No. 1 presented 600 metro tickets to disadvantaged students in Thu Duc ward.
