More than 400 households in Lang Son isolated in floodwater
Prolonged heavy rain caused the Trung and Thuong rivers to rise, submerging many roads in Lang Son, isolating 11 villages with 405 households in Huu Lung district.

On the morning of June 23, Ms. Duong Thi Hanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Huu Lung district ( Lang Son ) said that from June 21 until now, there has been prolonged heavy rain in the district, the water level on Trung river and Thuong river, and streams are rising more and more.According to Ms. Hanh, up to now, there have been no human casualties, the district has 39 flooded areas, 5 landslides, 41 households have been evacuated. In addition, 11 villages with 405 households were isolated, nearly 350 hectares of rice and crops were flooded.As of 7:30 a.m. today, the Trung River water level is at alert level 3 (2,016 mm) and shows no signs of receding.Many locations of underground bridges and streams were flooded, traffic was cut off.Mr. Nong Quoc Dung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhat Tien Commune, Huu Lung District, said that nearly 60 hectares of crops and rice, 25.5 hectares of local fruit trees are flooded, traffic is cut off, making travel difficult."Currently, Tan Nien village with 152 households is completely isolated, and Road DH 98 (district road) is flooded 3 meters deep in some places. The initial estimated damage is about 1.2 billion VND, and crop damage is expected to increase," said Mr. Dung.Currently, the flood situation is still complicated, the People's Committee of Huu Lung district directed road management units to regularly check 24/24h, promptly detect incidents affecting traffic for handling; directed units to mobilize construction machinery and equipment to be ready to respond when incidents occur. At the same time, the locality mobilized forces to support families to move to a safe place.In Bac Son district, heavy rains also caused serious flooding, causing heavy damage to people's property and crops. On the evening of June 22, Lang Son Provincial Police mobilized 30 officers and soldiers, 3 specialized cars and 2 motorboats; the fire prevention, fighting and rescue police force also mobilized 20 officers and soldiers and 2 motorboats to participate in rescuing people from dangerous flood areas.Authorities worked through the night to search and rescue people from flooded areas.Officers and soldiers support food and necessities for people in flood-hit areas.Authorities evacuated and rescued people to safety.HA (according to VTC News)
