The 300-year-old fishing village of Tan Phung is located at the foot of the mountain and faces the sea, about 70 km from Quy Nhon City. This area is notable for its rocky beaches such as Bai Ban and Da Dung, creating a unique landscape around Mui Vi Rong - a place shaped like a dragon stretching out to sea.
The whole village was captured by local photographer Nguyen Phan Dang Quan in early June. He said that each season of the year, Tan Phung has its own beauty, but summer is the ideal time to explore because the sky is clear, the sea is calm, favorable for experiential activities.
"Tan Phung is suitable for those who want to find a place to disconnect from the city, want to explore and learn about the life of fishermen," said Mr. Quan.
Visitors to the fishing village can easily see the image of boats going up and down the sea, along with fishermen pulling nets and removing fish along the shore. Photographer Nguyen Quan said that Tan Phung fishermen have different fishing times depending on the season and tide. Because they fish close to shore, each trip they make during the day usually falls between 4pm and 4am or early morning until 2pm.
Fishermen exchange and buy seafood right on the shore, or when they catch a big catch, they sell it at Tan Phung market. Quan suggests that if you have time to visit the fishing village, you can spend more time experiencing eco -tourism and learning about the lives of fishermen in the coastal commune of My Tho.
From the fishing village, visitors can visit Mui Vi Rong - a large rock jutting out into the sea, standing out in the middle of the water. Inside the mountain is a cave that goes deep inside. The combination of rocks and waves creates a unique natural landscape. Surrounding the rapids are jagged rocks, each wave hitting the rapids creates white foam, looking like the image of a dragon rushing out to sea.
There are many tour activities for tourists to experience such as swimming and SUP. From November to January, Mui Vi Rong area has big waves, attracting many foreign tourists to surf.

The weathering and erosion of the waves have created infinity pools close to the water's edge on the cliffs. However, this area has many steep slopes, moss-covered rocks that are very slippery and potentially dangerous. Visitors should not explore without a guide, and should be careful when moving and taking pictures.
Not far from Mui Vi Rong, Hon Tranh is a small island that still retains its wild beauty, standing out in the middle of the sea. In the middle of the island, there is a flat area, suitable for camping, picnicking and watching the sunrise. According to the 24-year-old photographer, there is currently a canoe service that takes visitors from the mainland to the island for the experience.
After climbing the rocky slopes and passing through the dense forest, visitors will see Hon Tranh (photo) with a green grass carpet surrounded by the sea. Tourism in Tan Phung is still small-scale and spontaneous. Therefore, visitors who want to explore the island must prepare their own tents and necessary items for the trip. According to Quan, the islanders are gentle, friendly, and ready to support and show the way to visitors who are here for the first time.
Around the rocky reefs near the fishing village, there are about 100 species of coral, along with many species of fish such as grouper, snapper, lobster, seaweed and snails. Visitors can experience coral diving under the guidance of local fishermen.
In addition, Quan suggests that tourists can ask permission from the boat owners to go out to sea with the fishermen to experience squid fishing and fishing with them. The boats usually return to shore early the next morning, before sunrise.
June is the anchovy season near the shore, visitors can see Tan Phung people drying fish on square trays. This is also a good time to enjoy dishes made from anchovies and buy specialties as gifts.
From the center of Quy Nhon City, visitors can rent a motorbike and follow the DT639 route to the village. This route is quite beautiful, with the sea on one side and the mountains on the other. Depending on the time, visitors can choose to go back in the day or stay at a local's house, because tourism services have not yet developed here.
The photographer noted that visitors should maintain hygiene and not litter. If swimming, they should wear a life jacket or have someone supervise them to ensure safety.
