Speaking at the opening ceremony of the workshop, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association - Director - Editor-in-Chief of the Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center Nguyen The Lam said: 100 years ago, on June 21, 1925, with the birth of Thanh Nien Newspaper founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, a brilliant milestone was engraved in the history of Vietnamese journalism, giving birth to revolutionary journalism. Since then, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam , our country's revolutionary press has continuously grown, becoming an inseparable part, a sharp weapon on the ideological and cultural front, making great contributions to the cause of national liberation struggle, building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

According to him, in the context of deep international integration and the explosion of information technology, Vietnamese revolutionary journalism is facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges. Grasping and mastering technology, innovating journalistic thinking, and improving the quality of staff are urgent requirements for the press to continue to promote its pioneering role, orienting public opinion, spreading good values, and fighting against false and hostile information.

He said: Integrating into the general flow of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, Quang Ninh journalism, with the characteristics of a border and island province, with a strategic position in terms of economy, politics , national defense and security, has made extremely important contributions and left its own mark throughout history. If in 1925, Thanh Nien Newspaper was published, marking the birth of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, then in the Quang Ninh Mining Region, only 3 years later - in 1928, the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association published Than Newspaper to propagate Marxism-Leninism, awaken patriotism and launch a movement of struggle among workers and people in the Mining Region.
