Students rejoice at the special opening ceremony

On the morning of September 5, more than 26 million students nationwide happily went to school to attend the special Opening Ceremony. This is an event with a “double” meaning, both welcoming the new school year and celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Education sector’s tradition, opening a period of transformation with the spirit of “Discipline - Creativity - Breakthrough - Development”.

The opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year is held in a special way, associated with the 80th anniversary of the tradition of the Education sector and the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year.

At exactly 8:00 a.m., the opening ceremony will be held live at the National Convention Center ( Hanoi ), broadcast live on VTV1 channel of Vietnam Television and connected online to about 52,000 educational institutions, from kindergarten to university (public and non-public) nationwide.

At Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School (Phuc Loi, Hanoi), the school arranged for students in grades 1, 2 and 3 to attend the opening ceremony online in the classroom.

Two groups of students, grades 4 and 5, attended in the school yard via a large LED screen.

Recorded at Xa Dan Secondary School (Dong Da District, Hanoi) - the first specialized school mainly for hearing-impaired children in Vietnam - teachers and students excitedly attended the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new school year, Ms. Dang Thi Hong Minh - Principal of Minh Khai Kindergarten (Tay Tuu, Hanoi) said: "Our Minh Khai Kindergarten today is spacious, modern, green - clean - beautiful, not only the pride of the locality but also a second home, where every child is welcomed with love, care and dreams are nurtured. The collective of cadres, teachers and staff of the school always keep in mind: "Education from the heart to have happy children", so that every day at school with the children is always a day full of joy and meaning".

The 2025-2026 school year is the first year the country operates under a two-tier government model, in which kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools are under the direct management of the commune level. This is also the first year that students at all levels will study two sessions a day at all levels completely free of charge.

Students and teachers at schools across the country join in the joyful and exciting atmosphere of the opening ceremony, ready to enter the new school year.
