Attending the opening ceremony at the Binh Chanh Center for Supporting the Development of Inclusive Education were Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, and representatives of departments, branches and localities.
Binh Chanh Inclusive Education Development Support Center was built in 1998, is a place to care for and educate children with disabilities. There are currently 271 children studying here under the guidance of 39 teachers, managers and 8 employees.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc respectfully acknowledged and praised the teachers who overcame difficulties and challenges, striving to fulfill their assigned tasks of taking care of unfortunate children and children with special circumstances in life.
On the opening day of the 2025-2026 school year, in addition to the joy of welcoming students to the new school year, Ms. Dang Thi Le Hang, Director of the Binh Chanh Center for Supporting the Development of Inclusive Education, shared: “We respect and are grateful for the silent sacrifices of the center's teachers and staff. Here, teachers not only bring letters but also patiently accompany, support and help disabled students find their faith in life, the green shoots need more love and sharing”.
Ms. Hang said, teaching normal children is already a difficult journey, teaching special children is a challenging journey and requires a lot of love. The students here have many types of disabilities: hearing loss, mental retardation, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, ADHD, learning difficulties... Each child is a separate world , to enter that world, the teacher not only needs professional knowledge but also infinite patience and a tolerant heart. Some students study for a whole month just to learn how to hold a pen. Some students take a year to say the word "Mom". Some lessons revolve around only looks, gestures and gentle handshakes... But little by little, the teachers persevere.

"The teachers at our center were so happy that they cried when their students said their first sentence, knew how to say hello politely, or confidently walked onto the stage to dance or sing a song. To others, that might be a small thing, but to the teachers here, it was a miracle. There were young teachers who, on their first day of work, burst into tears because they were helpless before the "silence" of their students. But then love won. She learned sign language, learned how to read eyes, learned how to listen to things that could not be put into words. There were teachers who gave up the opportunity to teach at normal schools, quietly sticking with classes with a few students, but each step the students took was a step of hope that the teachers had quietly built. With all their hearts, the teachers chose the profession of sowing hope, taking the joy of progress, no matter how small, as motivation to overcome all difficulties and hardships," Ms. Hang shared.
On the opening day of the new school year, the Binh Chanh Center for Supporting the Development of Inclusive Education awarded scholarships to 50 disadvantaged students who overcame difficulties to study well and launched a donation program to support people affected by storms and floods.
