Insiders hope that after the invitation to King Charles and Prince William to attend the Invictus Games (to be held in 2027), relations will warm enough for members of the royal family to join Harry.
The Invictus Games is an international multi -sport event first hosted by Prince Harry in 2014, for wounded and sick military personnel, both active and veteran.
Prince Harry wants his father to put aside differences
The Mail on Sunday quoted a source on June 22 calling this an "olive branch", that Prince Harry (40 years old) wanted to invite his family to participate.
"Hopefully the royals will attend the Invictus Games to support the wounded soldiers and veterans participating in the event. Harry hopes his father will put aside his disagreements to attend the Invictus Games to support the veterans," the source said.
"The Royal Family are very supportive of the Invictus Games and are proud of what Harry has achieved in that event. This is an olive branch from him," they added.
The newspaper said invitations would be sent out by email as early as this summer, giving courtiers and others enough time to plan around the king's schedule (who is continuing to undergo cancer treatment).
Prince Harry told the BBC in May 2025 after losing a legal appeal over his security clearance in the UK: "I'm very much looking forward to reconciling with my family. There's no point in fighting any more."

It is not yet known whether Harry will bring his wife - Meghan Markle and 2 children - Prince Archie, Princess Lilibet to the UK for the Invictus event.
"You know, I love my country. I always have, despite what some people back home have done. I miss the UK. It's sad that I won't be able to show my children my homeland," Harry said.
The Invictus Games, hosted by Prince Harry, will continue in 2027, making it the eighth edition since its debut in 2014 in London (2014), followed by Orlando (2016), Toronto (2017), Sydney (2018), The Hague (2022), Düsseldorf (2023), Vancouver and Whistler (February 2025). The Invictus Games will conclude on July 17, 2027, coinciding with Queen Camilla's 80th birthday.
