Speaking at the ceremony, US Ambassador Marc Knapper affirmed that Vietnam-US relations are at their best ever, right at the time when the two countries celebrate 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations.
The Ambassador assessed that bilateral cooperation will continue to make great strides, especially in high-tech fields such as semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI). He also emphasized the potential for expansion in the fields of defense, law enforcement cooperation and energy.
“I believe we can expect a lot of exciting things in the coming period,” he said, expressing hope that the next 30 years will be even brighter than the past 30. He also said that a number of trade issues are being actively resolved by both sides in a spirit of sincere cooperation.
According to Ambassador Knapper, Vietnam has a young, dynamic, technology-savvy workforce with a special interest in areas such as semiconductors, chip design and AI. This is an important foundation for Vietnam to promote its role in the region and globally, participate more deeply in the high-tech supply chain, and aim to become a high-tech, high-income economy .
“The United States wants to be a part of that future and is ready to accompany Vietnam on this journey,” the Ambassador shared.

According to Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc, Ho Chi Minh City, with the orientation of becoming a center of innovation and sustainable development in the region, especially values the potential for cooperation with the United States.
He affirmed that, on the basis of the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to facilitate new investment cooperation, especially in the fields of high technology, digital transformation, renewable energy, and human resource training.
"We see this as an important time for both sides to leverage their strengths and develop new areas such as semiconductor technology, AI, biotechnology, clean energy and digital economy," he said.

Speaking at the event, US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Susan Burns said that the celebration of the 249th anniversary of the US Independence Day is a testament to the development of bilateral relations between the two countries. This is also an opportunity to honor the efforts of both sides to build trust, mutual understanding, as well as promote people-to-people diplomacy between the two countries to new heights.
According to Ms. Susan Burns, the fact that more and more US companies and organizations want to invest in Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular is also a clear demonstration of the depth and importance of the US-Vietnam relationship. Ms. Susan Burns expressed her confidence in the development prospects of the bilateral relationship in the future; emphasizing that both sides will continue to commit to building a better future.
