The ward front promptly supported and helped my family stabilize their housing” - Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh in Tan Phuoc area, Thoi Long ward emotionally told about the locality’s care and concern for his family.

Leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thoi Long ward and representatives of sponsors presented gifts to disadvantaged students before the new school year 2025-2026.

Together with the delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thoi Long Ward, we visited Mr. Thanh's family right after the roof was repaired. The leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the Ward gave 20kg of rice, necessities and 1 million VND in cash; at the same time, they kindly asked about and encouraged the family to overcome difficulties.

Ms. Nguyen Kim Lien's family received support from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thoi Long Ward to build a house and help with many aspects of life. Ms. Lien confided: "My family's Great Unity House was completed in time for the Lunar New Year of At Ty in 2025. In addition to supporting the house construction, ward and local officials often give my family gifts on holidays, Tet, and the beginning of the school year. Currently, my family is supported to borrow capital from the Social Policy Bank to rent 3 hectares of land to grow corn, with a profit of about 30 million VND/year. Thanks to that, the family's economy has gradually improved.

According to Mr. Vo Minh Trieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, in the first 7 months of 2025, from support from superiors and socialization, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward built and repaired 16 Great Unity houses, with a total amount of more than 1.6 billion VND and 350 working days. At the same time, coordinated to mobilize 570 gifts and 25 tons of rice to give to poor and near-poor households on the occasion of Lunar New Year, with a total value of over 210 million VND...

The ward's socio -political organizations manage 80 groups borrowing capital from the Social Policy Bank, supporting many families to invest in production, build economic models, and increase income. In particular, the guava growing cooperative model established by the Women's Union of Thoi Long ward in 2024 is proving effective. The model has 10 members cultivating 5 hectares, mainly growing pear guava. By joining the cooperative, members are supported with loans, shared experiences, techniques for growing and caring for guava, and finding outlets for the products. Currently, each hectare of pear guava, growers can earn 15-20 million VND/year.

Along with the guava growing cooperative model, the Ward Women's Union established and effectively maintained the model of the Net Making - Trap Making Association, with 15 members; the Seasonal Labor Association, with 32 members... The models attracted and created jobs for many members and women with an income of 3-6 million VND/person/month.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward and its member organizations pay attention to those in especially difficult circumstances. Mr. Vo Minh Trieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, said: “For the elderly living alone and in especially difficult circumstances, we regularly mobilize rice support. For households with seriously ill or terminally ill people, the ward and the area mobilize support for medical examination and treatment costs.”

Ms. Huynh Ngoc Huong in Phu Luong area, 75 years old, living alone, with poor health, no longer able to work, confided: “The staff of the Front Work Committee and local organizations often support me with necessities. On holidays and Tet, I am given priority to receive gifts.”

On the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2025-2026, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward coordinated with the ward's socio-political organizations to organize the awarding of 557 gifts and scholarships, with a total value of over 239 million VND to students in difficult circumstances. Mr. Quynh Ngoc Qui, residing in Phu Luong area, brought his daughter to receive the scholarship of the program, sharing: "My wife and I have no land to produce, so we work for a living. We have 3 young children. In the new school year, my children received scholarships and school supplies. Thanks to that, my family has less burden to worry about expenses."

The practical support measures of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thoi Long Ward and its member organizations have contributed to helping many families. According to Mr. Vo Minh Trieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the Ward, in 2025, Thoi Long Ward still had 21 poor households. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the Ward continued to negotiate with member organizations to assign sponsorship and support for poor households through building houses, supporting loans, introducing jobs, etc. At the same time, it paid attention to building and improving the quality of effective models, attracting union members, association members, and people to participate, in order to increase income and improve living standards.
