One recent weekend afternoon, as usual, I went to Thien Nga Lake in Gia Nghia to walk and exercise. At that time, at the intersection of Quang Trung and 23/3 Street, there were several cars with license plate number 48 parked to pick up a group of civil servants, preparing to leave. Perhaps many people in Gia Nghia have gradually become accustomed to the image of cars with license plate number 48 rushing back and forth on the streets to pick up citizens leaving their homes every Sunday afternoon.
However, I was really surprised when an elderly man who was also walking next to me pointed at the cars and the group of people and said: “They are going to “make a revolution”!” Then, as if having the opportunity to share his thoughts, he said: “I am also a cadre, but I have been retired for several years. Before, I used to go back and forth between Gia Nghia and Buon Ma Thuot, so I understand the difficulties of those who came to work in Da Lat after the province was merged. Those who went to Da Lat also deserve to be considered “making a revolution”. In my neighborhood, there were also a few men who went to Da Lat. Seeing the husband in one place, the wife in another, on Sunday afternoon, they were so moved by the scene of them saying goodbye to each other.”
As an insider, I was also transferred to Da Lat, but due to work requirements, I was assigned to stay in Gia Nghia area, so hearing the words of encouragement from an older person I had just met, I felt my heart warm up, as if I had been encouraged and comforted a lot.
The fact that cadres and civil servants happily comply with the organization's dispatch, willing to leave their families to work in Da Lat is a huge sacrifice. Therefore, while the new Lam Dong province does not have the conditions and capabilities to simultaneously settle nearly a thousand households, it is natural for cadres and civil servants to go back and forth every week. On the other hand, this is also a matter of morality and humanity because most of them have close emotional relationships with their families, relatives, friends, and neighbors in the place where they have lived for many years, which cannot be broken overnight.
Only those who have been in the situation can sympathize with the brothers, who traveled nearly 200 km to Da Lat to work on weekends. At first, they were still facing many difficulties and lacked affection, so who would not want to return home to have fun and reunite with their family in their cozy home? Therefore, the province's facilitation of travel and return is also a great source of spiritual encouragement for cadres and civil servants to always be excited to work, feel secure in their work, and contribute to Lam Dong in the process of reorganizing the country.
In fact, on that journey, for many different reasons, there will certainly be some people who stop. On the contrary, the good news is that there are also many families of cadres and civil servants who proactively overcome difficulties, take care of their own food and accommodation, and are determined to settle down in Da Lat for a long time.
Each person has different circumstances, thoughts and feelings, but it must be affirmed that the majority of cadres and civil servants have tried and made efforts to overcome initial difficulties, challenges and shortages, quietly contributing their efforts and intelligence to their homeland Lam Dong.
