Coach Makoto Teguramori has not resigned after Hanoi's disastrous loss to Hanoi Police

Speaking after the 2-4 loss to Cong An Ha Noi on the evening of August 28, head coach of Ha Noi Club Makoto Teguramori said he would let the leadership decide his future.

"This is a sad result. I came here to help Hanoi FC win the V-League championship but the current results are not good. The decision on my position will be made by the club's leadership," head coach Makoto Teguramori shared at the post-match press conference.

At Hang Day Stadium, Hanoi Club lost miserably to Cong An Hanoi 2-4 in round 3 of V-League 2025 - 2026. The capital team could not control the game, allowing the opponent to lead 4-0 until the 84th minute to score an honorary goal.

"After conceding 2 goals, Hanoi FC revealed many gaps. We also knew that this would be a difficult match, but losing 2-4 is still sad," Coach Makoto shared.

This is the third consecutive match without a win for Hanoi FC since the beginning of the V-League this season. In the previous two matches, Coach Makoto's team drew 0-0 with Hoang Anh Gia Lai and lost 1-2 to Cong An TP.HCM.

"There are many reasons for our poor start to the season. A week ago, the team had just had full strength, so the lineup has not been able to work together yet," said the Japanese strategist.

Coach Makoto Teguramori, born in 1967, led Hanoi Club in phase 2 of the 2024 - 2025 season and helped the team win the V-League runner-up position.

At the beginning of this season, the team under the leadership of Mr. Makoto did not show the same cohesive and beautiful playing style as last season. The main frame of Hanoi did not change much, but the players played deadlocked and lacked creativity. The pressure on the head coach position of Mr. Makoto is now very great.

Nguyen Quang Hai, a player who grew up at Hanoi Club and is currently the captain of Hanoi Police Club, still believes in the return of his old team.

"Hanoi FC has always been a strong force, playing against them has never been easy. Although the team has not had a good start in each season, I believe they will soon recover and come back stronger in the later stages," Quang Hai shared after the match.
