This year, for the first time, the high school graduation exam was held for two groups of candidates following two different generaleducation programs, with separate exam questions and regulations for each group.

This year's 12th graders will take the test based on the 2018 General Education Program, while independent candidates - who studied under the old program but have not yet graduated - will take the test based on the 2006 General Education Program.

For 12th graders taking the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program, the 2025 high school graduation exam will be shortened to 3 sessions, instead of 4 sessions as before. Specifically, candidates will take the exam in literature, math and one session for the optional combination exam.

While many candidates maintained a relaxed mindset, many were still worried and stressed when entering the official exam day.

After finishing the literature exam, many candidates left the exam room with a feeling of relief. Many students said that the exam followed the curriculum closely, was suitable for the review content, and gave them the opportunity to demonstrate well the knowledge they had prepared.

The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place over 3 days, from June 25 to 27. Nationwide, 1,165,289 candidates have registered to take the exam, an increase of nearly 100,000 candidates compared to 2024. Of these, 1,138,579 candidates will take the exam under the 2018 General Education Program (accounting for 97.71%) and 26,711 candidates will take the exam under the 2006 General Education Program (2.29%).
