The Women's Union of Chieng Khoi Commune, Yen Chau District, is one of the typical associations in building savings models. From 2021 to present, the Association has built a model of "Collecting recycled waste" to raise funds and give gifts to orphans, disabled children, poor women, and lonely elderly people; 6 "Charity Rice Jars", collecting nearly 800kg of rice, helping 84 poor members; supporting "livelihood model" funding for 6 poor women members. The Association also built an association fund, with a total budget of more than 378 million VND, helping 44 members borrow at low interest rates to buy plants and seedlings to develop production and increase income.
Member Lo Thi Ngoan, Me village, Chieng Khoi commune, shared: In early 2025, the family received financial support from the Women's Union to buy breeding goats and technical guidance on building a barn, using green food and agricultural by-products to raise goats. Currently, the goats are growing well, I will try to take care of them so that the herd can develop, increase income, and escape poverty.
The Women's Union of Muong Te Commune, Van Ho District, has called on its members to save at least 5,000 VND/member/month. Ms. Dinh Thi Hang, President of the Women's Union of the commune, said: Up to now, the whole commune has 14 groups implementing savings, with a total amount of 250 million VND assigned to the branches to manage, helping 50 poor member households borrow to develop the economy . Maintaining 8 savings models of "Raising plastic pigs", helping 30 women in difficult circumstances to borrow more than 21 million VND/time. The "Charity Rice Jar" model supports more than 2.5 tons of rice and over 600 bundles of firewood for members in difficult circumstances.
Implementing savings models, the Provincial Women's Union launched the movement "Women practice savings following Uncle Ho's teachings", directing the union bases to build savings models, such as "5 thousand VND/member/month", "Rice savings jar", "Plastic savings piggy bank"... to raise funds for activities, help each other develop the economy and visit and encourage members when they are sick or in trouble.
Ms. Vi Thi Binh, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, said: Every year, the Union coordinates with credit institutions in the province to maintain the effective operation of savings and loan groups at the grassroots level. Coordinates the organization of the launching ceremony of "Savings Week, Joining Hands for the Poor" to all levels of the union. Directs all levels of the union to build union funds and savings funds for each branch, not only to help members in difficult circumstances, but also to create a spirit of solidarity within the branches.
Currently, the province maintains 1,058 savings and loan groups, with nearly 35,000 households borrowing from the Bank for Social Policies and the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, with a total outstanding debt of more than VND 2,100 billion. Implementing the "Savings Week, Joining Hands for the Poor" in 2025, the women's union at all levels mobilized women's union members to deposit 316 savings books, with a total amount of VND 3.5 billion, and presented 51 savings books to new recruits; 10 savings books to orphaned students in difficult circumstances and poor union members in Hong Ngai commune, Bac Yen district.
The thrift practice movement in the Women's Union at all levels in the province has had a widespread effect, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity among members, mutual support and assistance in economic development, building a prosperous and happy family, contributing to enhancing the position and role of the Women's Union, becoming a reliable support for members.
