Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is 95% complete and is expected to be put into operation before September 2, 2025.

(ABO) The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Construction Project connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces has reached 95% progress, marking an important step in completing the transport infrastructure of the Mekong Delta region.

The main bridge section has been closed and is being completed.

According to information from the My Thuan Project Management Board - Ministry of Construction , the project investor, the project has now completed almost all major items. The road section has basically completed the entire route on the Ben Tre province side and the road leading to the bridge, while the National Highway 60 intersection at the end of the route is expected to be completed in June 2025.

Notably, out of the 6 bridges on the route, 4 have been completed: Xoai Hot, My Tho, Tam Son and Ba Lai. The remaining two bridges, Song Ma bridge and Rach Mieu 2 main bridge, are in the final stages of completion.

As for the main Rach Mieu 2 bridge, it was successfully closed on April 19. Currently, the construction units are focusing on completing the final items such as railings, median strips, lighting, bridge deck expansion joints and fire prevention and fighting systems.

To ensure progress, construction units are maintaining "3 shifts, 4 teams" with about 30 construction teams, 150 pieces of equipment, 500 workers and 83 technical staff. According to the plan, the project will strive to be completed in early August 2025 to be put into operation before September 2, 2025.

Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, when completed, will contribute significantly to connecting traffic between the Western provinces, shortening travel time and promoting socio -economic development in the Mekong Delta region.

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Construction Project has a total investment of VND 6,810.11 billion from the state budget, with a total project length of about 17.6 km. The project is designed as a 4-lane grade III delta road, connecting from Dong Tam intersection (Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province) to Km16+660 National Highway 60 ( Ben Tre city, Ben Tre province).
