Hundreds of experts discuss digital transformation and sustainable development in Southeast Asia

(NLDO) - More than 100 presentations discussed issues related to economy, environment and digital transformation, taking place on August 1 and 2 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The School of Economics , Law and Public Administration (CELG) under the University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City recently organized an international conference on economics , law and public administration in 2025 (ELG 2025). The conference had the theme "Resilience, sustainable development and digital transformation in a volatile world: Perspectives from Southeast Asia".

The workshop attracted many international experts to attend.

At the opening ceremony, Professor - Dr. Su Dinh Thanh, Director of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, said: “We are living in a world that is changing faster than ever, facing many challenges, from climate change to rapid digital transformation. These issues not only affect Southeast Asia but also the whole world. This year's conference continues the discussion topics initiated at last year's conference on dual transformation - how to simultaneously respond to climate change and digital transformation."

This year's conference focuses on interdisciplinary content axes in the fields of economics, law and state management, such as: technological solutions and policies to support economic recovery after the crisis; governance and law adapting to environmental change and digital transformation; public finance, behavioral economics and institutional capacity; quantitative models and data analysis for sustainable policy making; the role of culture, arts and humanities in building an inclusive and flexible society.

The conference received 190 papers from authors from many countries, covering a wide range of topics. In addition to 3 plenary sessions, 130 papers were selected to be presented in 32 parallel discussion sessions on August 1 and 2.

The three main speakers are Professor Pamela Jagger, University of Michigan (USA); Professor Carlos Chávez, University of Talca (Chile) and Professor Jeannie Marie Paterson, University of Melbourne (Australia).

Professor Pamela Jagger is a leading expert in the field of environmental policy and sustainable development.

According to experts, this is also an opportunity to establish long-term international cooperation networks, promote interdisciplinary and multinational training and research, and raise public awareness of the key role of digital transformation in sustainable development and adaptability.
