Patients being treated at Vung Tau Hospital said that after eating bread and sticky rice from the afternoon and evening of November 26, by early this morning they had stomach aches, vomited, and had to be hospitalized for emergency care.
On November 27, Vung Tau Hospital (Vung Tau City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau ) said it had admitted more than 30 patients in emergency care with abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. These patients had previously eaten bread and sticky rice at a bakery.
The doctor asked the patient about his eating schedule after he had symptoms of abdominal pain.
Vung Tau Hospital leaders said 20 people have been admitted to the hospital for treatment; the rest are being treated.
Lying on the treatment bed, Ms. L. (37 years old, living in Vung Tau City) said that at 7:00 p.m. on November 26, her family bought 6 meat sandwiches and 1 package of sticky rice from CB Bread and Sticky Rice Shop (Ben Dinh intersection, Vung Tau City) to eat. By 1:00 a.m. on November 27, all 7 people in the family had signs of stomachache, vomiting and continuous diarrhea.
"My whole family is currently in the emergency room, where the doctor has given us IV fluids and medication. I still have a dull ache," said Ms. L.

Q. (a 9th grader living in Vung Tau City) also ate bread and had a stomachache, vomited, and had diarrhea. "Yesterday afternoon, I took a day off from school and my sister bought me a loaf of bread with pork roll from CB An Bread and Sticky Rice Shop at 4 p.m. On the morning of November 27, I had a stomachache, vomited, and had diarrhea," Q. said.
Receiving reports of a series of cases of suspected food poisoning after eating bread and sticky rice, the authorities of Vung Tau City, the Department of Health and the Police of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province have stepped in to verify and clarify the incident.
