Hanoi supports Dien Bien and Son La with 8 billion VND to overcome the consequences of natural disasters

With the spirit of "Hanoi for the whole country, with the whole country", the Hanoi Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee decided to support Dien Bien province with 5 billion VND and Son La province with 3 billion VND to overcome natural disasters.

Faced with the severe damage caused by prolonged heavy rains causing flash floods, landslides in the northern mountainous provinces, especially Son La and Dien Bien in late July and early August 2025, with the spirit of " Hanoi for the whole country, with the whole country", the Hanoi Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee decided to allocate the city's "Relief" Fund to support the people of Dien Bien province with 5 billion VND and Son La province with 3 billion VND.

This decision aims to help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters, soon stabilize their lives and restore production.

Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Head of the Hanoi National Assembly Delegation, on behalf of the city's leaders, sent a letter of condolences and expressed deep sympathy to all cadres, soldiers and people of Dien Bien and Son La provinces, especially people in areas affected by storms and floods.

Previously, according to local reports, from July 26 to 27 in Son La province and early August in Dien Bien province, prolonged heavy rains caused serious damage to people and property. In Son La province, hundreds of hectares of rice, crops, and fish ponds were washed away; many traffic works, schools, electricity, and water systems were severely damaged.

In Dien Bien province, natural disasters have affected hundreds of households, swept away property, collapsed houses, paralyzed traffic, causing great damage to the economy and people's lives.

The timely and meaningful support of the Party Committee, government and people of Hanoi Capital demonstrates the spirit of mutual love, social responsibility and deep affection between localities across the country, sharing and contributing to support people in flood-affected areas to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.
