Striker Erling Haaland has officially reached the 300-goal mark in his club and national team career, contributing to Man City's 5-2 crushing victory over Juventus at the FIFA Club World Cup in Orlando (USA) in the early morning of June 27.
The Norwegian star started the game on the bench for Pep Guardiola's side, but was brought on at the start of the second half to replace Egypt international Omar Marmoush. It took just seven minutes after coming on and with his third touch, the former Borussia Dortmund striker was on the scoresheet, slotting the ball into the Juventus net from close range.

Haaland's strike to make it 3-1 for Man City against Juve was his 123rd goal for the Premier League side in just 145 appearances. More importantly, it took his career tally to 300 goals in just 370 games for Molde, RB Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund, Man City and the Norway national team.
Man City's 5-2 aggregate win means they top Group G, ahead of Juventus, and will face the runners-up in Group H in the last 16 in Orlando. Real Madrid currently lead Group H ahead of RB Salzburg, ahead of the final group stage games on Thursday (local time).
Haaland reached the 300-goal mark at just 24 years and 11 months (he turns 25 on July 21) and has played 369 games, showing that the Norwegian still has many more top-flight seasons ahead of him to continue improving his record.
To see the scale of this achievement, let’s take a look at the list of the world’s top scorers today. Currently, 10th place belongs to Hulk, the Brazilian winger playing for Atletico Mineiro, with 441 goals. Although Haaland is 141 goals short of that number, it is worth noting that Hulk achieved that total at the age of 38, while the Man City star still has plenty of time to improve his record.
The top scorers list also includes Neymar (444 goals), Edin Dzeko (448 goals), Harry Kane (452 goals), Edinson Cavani (452 goals), Karim Benzema (498 goals), Luis Suarez (589 goals) and Robert Lewandowski (695 goals). Of course, the top two spots belong to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. However, all of these players are over 30 years old.

Ronaldo is not only the current top scorer, but also the all-time leader. Since his professional career began in 2002, he has scored 938 goals in 1,281 games for both club and country, Portugal. That means Haaland would need another 638 goals to match CR7.
The goal of catching Lionel Messi seems a little easier, although still extremely difficult. The Argentine striker is currently second all-time with 877 goals in 1,140 matches, putting him 577 goals ahead of Haaland.
However, despite the huge gap in total goals, the Norwegian striker has surpassed both Messi and Ronaldo in a number of key statistical categories.
Firstly, the Man City star has shown an outstanding scoring efficiency. While Messi averages 0.76 goals per game and Ronaldo scores 0.73 goals, Haaland has scored 300 goals in 369 games, averaging 0.81 goals per game.
Haaland also reached the 300-goal mark earlier than both Messi and Cristiano in their careers. The Argentine was 25 years and 4 months old when he reached the milestone with Barcelona in 2012 (418 games). The Portuguese forward was 27 years and 3 months old when he did the same with Real Madrid that same year (554 games). In contrast, Haaland reached the milestone at just 24 years and 11 months old, confirming his potential to become one of the greatest strikers in football history.
