“After a journey of more than 4 years and 5 seasons in V.League, Ha Tinh would like to express our deep gratitude to Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong - who has left a strong mark in the development history of the team”, Ha Tinh's homepage confirmed the farewell to Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong on the evening of June 28.
Arriving at Ha Tinh in September 2021, Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong took over the team during a difficult time. He brought stability, built a disciplined playing style and an indomitable fighting spirit. This has become Ha Tinh's identity in recent seasons. Under his leadership, the Hong Mountain team not only successfully stayed in the league for many consecutive seasons but also finished in 5th place in the V.League 2024/25.
Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong is a beloved coach thanks to his kind and dedicated way of working. He has helped to develop many young players, maintain unity in the dressing room and has always been a spiritual support during difficult times. The Hong Mountain football team considers him a “bright-hearted” person, an indispensable part in the team’s journey to maturity.
Although the contract between the two sides was still valid, Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong proactively resigned due to health issues. The coach born in 1977 had to take medicine many times to ensure his health during work. Therefore, after the season ended, he expressed his wish to resign to have time to recover.
Initially, the team leaders did not agree and tried to persuade him to stay and continue to “steer” the team for a while longer. However, due to the determination and legitimate wishes of the coach from Nghe An , the team leaders agreed to let him leave the coaching position.
The farewell of Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong and Ha Tinh took place in mutual respect and appreciation. With the strong impression he left, he still holds a special place in the hearts of Ha Tinh football fans. As for Coach Thanh Cong, the journey in V.League may be paused, but it is not the end. After recovering his health, he is expected to soon return to the field in a new chapter of his coaching career.
