The 4 km long, 4 m wide route along the To Lich River, through Cau Giay and Dong Da districts, is being renovated to be reserved for bicycles.

On January 26, more than a dozen workers began cleaning the road along the To Lich River, from Nga Tu So, Dong Da District to the University of Transport, Cau Giay District. Another group repainted the road lines and leveled the ground to make a bicycle parking station.

It is expected that on February 1, this route will be put into operation, becoming the first dedicated bicycle road in Hanoi . Cyclists will be able to connect to Lang station of the Cat Linh - Ha Dong railway and station No. 8 of the Nhon metro - Hanoi station.

There are 6 public bicycle stations along the route, including one in front of the University of Transport and one at Lang Station. The public bicycle rental service operator said it will add about 100 regular bicycles and electric bicycles to serve people's travel needs.

The To Lich riverside road was invested with nearly 65 billion VND and put into use in March 2019. Initially, the road was used for people to walk and exercise. After nearly 4 years, the road has deteriorated and become a place for defecation and garbage dumping. The road is also often divided and fenced off during the construction of the Yen Xa wastewater project.
