In the 2025-2026 school year, Victory Primary, Secondary and High School (Buon Ma Thuot Ward) will welcome 3,383 students at all three levels.

With the motto of prevention is better than cure, before the school year started, the whole school carried out a general cleaning, mosquito eradication, and disinfection of all classrooms, playgrounds, and common areas. The school’s teachers and staff were also thoroughly trained on how to identify and treat common diseases in students.

At the same time, the school strengthens communication to parents about disease prevention and control knowledge, creating a solid "double shield" to protect students' health from home to school.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Phat, Vice Principal in charge of Victory Primary, Secondary and High School, said that with 3,350 students (99%) registering for school meals, the school always puts food safety as the top priority, especially in the context of widespread dirty food, fake food and complicated developments of African swine fever.

Input materials are carefully selected from reputable suppliers, with full food safety certificates and clear quarantine records. The school implements a strict 3-step food inspection process according to regulations of the Ministry of Health .

To enhance transparency and trust, the Parents' Association or parents of each class have the right to conduct surprise inspections of the quality and quantity of school meals.

"Regarding pork, in the context of the complicated developments of African swine fever, the school requires strict control of the origin and quality of food. When necessary, the school will flexibly adjust the menu by replacing pork with other nutritious foods such as chicken, beef, fish, shrimp, eggs...", said Mr. Phat.

At Baby 2 Kindergarten (Tuy Hoa Ward), in the 2025-2026 school year, the whole school has 360 children studying in 16 classes, including 4 nursery classes and 12 kindergarten classes. Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, Principal of the school, said that to ensure nutrition for children, the school has built a flexible menu, diverse dishes and changed them every week. The school signed a contract with a reputable food supplier, with inspection documents and clear origin for the food used to prepare for children.

For preschool children, infectious diseases such as hand, foot and mouth disease and pink eye are common during the transitional season, especially in crowded school environments. To prevent disease outbreaks, the school has proactively disinfected classrooms, desks, chairs, school supplies and children's toys. In addition, teachers regularly instruct children to wash their hands properly with soap: before eating, after using the toilet, after playtime; at the same time, students are not allowed to share personal items such as towels, drinking glasses, etc.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Luu Tien Quang, in the 2025-2026 school year, the province will have 453 public and private kindergartens with 126,333 children attending; 456 primary schools with 273,366 students. To ensure a safe school environment in the new school year, the Department of Education and Training has directed educational institutions in the province to implement many effective epidemic prevention and control measures, not allowing the epidemic to break out, spread, and prolong.

The Department also requested schools to monitor and detect early cases of hand, foot and mouth disease in educational establishments, immediately notify the health sector for timely handling, and prevent the spread in nurseries and kindergartens; at the same time, strengthen food hygiene and safety, and prevent poisoning in school kitchens.

Schools must be really careful in selecting, processing, preserving, and using safe food and food ingredients. They must absolutely not use fake or poor quality food and food ingredients that have been discovered and widely announced by authorities.
