Unlike previous years, this year's public high school entrance exam does not have many speculations about the works in the exam because the materials in the exam are used outside of textbooks.
With the work "Happiness" by poet Giang Nam, many candidates said that this is an easy-to-read and easy-to-analyze work. The exam questions are quite new and interesting, not requiring memorization, the issues raised revolve around daily life, especially for students. The social essay section, writing about feelings about the years of being a student at school, is also quite interesting and familiar.

Showing confidence in her test, Vu Thanh Ha, a student at Chu Van An Secondary School, Thanh Tri District (Hanoi), said: The official test has a structure similar to the sample test that the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has announced. Overall, the test is suitable for candidates but still ensures classification.
Analyzing the Literature exam in detail, Ms. Ngo Thu My, a Literature teacher at Hoang Mai Secondary School, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi, said: In the reading comprehension section, the material is a beautiful poem. If the sample exam of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training is a poem about maternal love, the official exam is about paternal love. Family affection is a topic close to the students' experiences and easily touches their emotions, arousing their interest in doing the test. The reading comprehension questions cover a wide range of knowledge and skills at different levels. There are both easy questions and "giving points" questions (questions 1, 2), and questions that are differentiated (questions 3, 4).
Ms. Thu My thinks that the way question 4 is asked is very good because it is both easy and difficult. It is easy because the question clearly states the requirement, but there is also a difficult point because the content of the verse (excerpt) must be placed in the entire poem to understand its meaning. Therefore, to answer deeply enough the effect of "repeating words in two lines of poetry", we must go back to the text and analyze it.
"Question 3 is a question with a clear suggestion - using the context of the poem to understand the content of the verse. However, the question "how to understand the lines of poetry" is a bit vague for students, is it about understanding the content or the art? This can make students answer cumbersomely, wasting time while the question is only worth 1 point", said Ms. Thu My.

The argumentative part was evaluated by Ms. Thu My as good and "beautiful". The question of writing an argumentative paragraph requiring analysis of 5 lines of poetry with a length of 200 words is appropriate, especially when the 5 lines of poetry are complete in content and have a unique form, giving students "space" to analyze.
The question of writing a social argumentative essay on “how to always find joy in school years” has a way of leading that is both suggestive and concise. The way of asking questions is quite clever and helps the topic not to be “dry”. The chosen argumentative topic is very easy to evoke the emotions of students - the 9th graders who have just graduated from school, full of nostalgia and love. The keyword “joy in school years” is also the “fertile land” of this age group. Therefore, it promises to have soft and interesting argumentative essays.
“As a literature teacher who directly teaches and accompanies students throughout their review journey, I feel quite relieved about the exam and want to say thank you to those who created the exam. I believe that this morning's literature exam will help motivate students in Hanoi to continue to do well in the remaining exams," Ms. Thu My expressed.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thuy, a Literature teacher at Dai Kim Secondary School (Hoang Mai) also commented that the exam questions were relatively close to the sample questions and were suitable for students, not confusing or difficult to understand. In particular, the questions used appropriate materials, social discussion questions were closely related to real-life issues, close to students' daily lives, and could promote the candidates' abilities and creativity. However, this was not an easy question to get a high score, candidates must have good abilities to be able to get a score of 9 or higher.
According to a quick report from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, during the Literature exam, no candidate in the city violated exam regulations.
