International billiards pool tournament with billion-dollar prize is about to start in Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City Open 2024 is organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF), with the main sponsorship of the famous billiards brand Aplus and a total prize value of up to 110,000 USD (about 2.8 billion VND). This is the largest international billiards pool tournament in Vietnam, recognized by two famous billiards organizations: the World Billiards Pool Federation (WPA) and the Asian Billiards Sports Federation (ACBS). Accordingly, all domestic and international players can register to participate and will be scored on the WPA rankings.

In the final round, the champion will receive an attractive prize of up to 35,000 USD (nearly 900 million VND). The runner-up will receive 13,000 USD (nearly 330 million VND), and the third place will receive 5,000 USD. In addition, the players in the top 8 will receive 3,000 USD, the top 16 will receive 1,600 USD, the top 32 will receive 800 USD and the top 64 will receive 450 USD. The places to compete in the final round will be based on the allocation of the WPA.

Vietnam's top pool player Duong Quoc Hoang (nickname Hoang Sao) is likely to participate in the Ho Chi Minh City Open 2024.

In particular, to create conditions and opportunities for many Vietnamese and international players to compete with the world's top names, Ho Chi Minh City Open 2024 also organizes a qualifying round taking place from September 20 to 23, 2024. 128 players will compete in a 2-loss format, selecting the 32 best players to win tickets to compete in the final round.

The prize structure of the qualifying round is also extremely attractive when the qualifying round champion will receive 5,000 USD (about 130 million VND), the runner-up will receive 2,000 USD (about 52 million VND). The two third-place players will receive 1,000 USD. The top 8 will receive 400 USD and the top 16 will receive 150 USD.
