Gasoline prices continue to increase from September 4

Domestic gasoline prices will continue to increase from 3:00 p.m. on September 4. The new adjustment for gasoline and oil products will increase from 76-116 VND/liter depending on the type.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just sent a document to key traders and distributors of gasoline and oil regarding the management of domestic gasoline and oil retail prices. Accordingly, domestic gasoline and oil prices will continue to increase from 3 p.m. today (September 4).

Specifically, the ceiling price of E5RON92 gasoline is 19,851 VND/liter, an increase of 80 VND/liter compared to the current price; RON95-III gasoline has a new price of 20,439 VND/liter, an increase of 76 VND/liter compared to the current price. Along with that, diesel oil increased by 116 VND/liter, to 18,473 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 89 VND/liter, the new price is 18,314 VND/liter and mazut oil increased by 116 VND, to 15,376 VND/kg.

Regarding the price stabilization fund, since the beginning of the year, the fund has remained unchanged with no deductions and no spending for petroleum products. A representative of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) said that as of the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the enterprise was VND3,084 billion, unchanged from the most recent announcement.

According to the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, this management period, the plan to manage gasoline prices aims to ensure that domestic gasoline price fluctuations are consistent with world gasoline price fluctuations; continue to maintain the price difference between E5RON92 biofuel and RON95 mineral gasoline at a reasonable level to encourage the use of biofuels according to the Government's policy; ensure the harmony of interests among market participants.

In the previous adjustment on August 28, E5RON92 gasoline increased by VND307/liter; RON95-III gasoline increased by VND271/liter. Along with that, diesel increased by VND452/liter; kerosene increased by VND411/liter and fuel oil increased by VND144/kg.

According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the time for managing petroleum prices is implemented every Thursday./.
