Gold price skyrockets, approaching 121 million VND/tael

After many consecutive days of decline, the world gold price today, July 1, skyrocketed, pushing the price of SJC gold bars to the highest level in more than a month.

At 8:00 p.m. today, the world gold price increased to nearly 3,350 USD/ounce. Converted according to the exchange rate listed at the bank, the world gold price is equivalent to 106.2 million VND/tael.

Gold price hits highest level in over a month

Compared to yesterday, the world gold price has increased by more than 46.7 USD/ounce, equivalent to 1.48 million VND/tael.

World gold prices increased sharply last night and surpassed the 3,300 USD/ounce mark thanks to the depreciation of the USD.

Previously, world gold prices had a two-week decline due to easing tensions in the Middle East, causing demand for gold to also decrease.

Instead, investors increasingly took profits as geopolitical tensions eased and poured capital into riskier assets, including stocks.

Gold prices rose 5.5% in the second quarter and more than 26% in the first half of this year, as demand for protection against risks related to global trade and geopolitical tensions increased.

Domestic gold price is still higher than world gold price

The selling price of SJC gold bars today increased sharply following the increase in world gold prices. The selling price of SJC gold bars at the end of today was 120.7 million VND/tael, buying price was 118.7 million VND/tael.

Thus, the price of SJC gold bars has increased by 1.5 million VND in just one day. This is also a very strong increase in gold prices in recent times. The difference between buying and selling prices is at 2 million VND/tael.

Meanwhile, the selling price of 9999 gold rings at SJC Company is 116.8 million VND/tael, buying price is 114.3 million VND/tael, an increase of 1 million VND/tael compared to yesterday.

Compared to the converted world gold price, the price of SJC gold bars is 14.5 million VND/tael higher, while the price of 9999 gold rings is 10.6 million VND/tael higher.

This is still a very high difference compared to the Prime Minister 's directive to reduce the difference between domestic and world gold prices to around 1-2%.

If following the Prime Minister's instructions, the domestic gold price must return to 107.3 - 108.3 million VND/tael.
