World gold price increased to unprecedented high
As of 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, Vietnam time, the world gold price reached 3,589.87 USD/ounce, up 1.03%, equivalent to an increase of 36.72 USD/ounce compared to yesterday.
Gold prices have been increasing continuously recently and have had many unusual developments compared to before. From 2024 to now, gold prices have set many new records and maintained a continuous upward trend.
One of the main reasons for the sharp increase in gold prices is the slowing US economy . The US jobs report for August showed that the number of new jobs created was only 22,000, much lower than the forecast of 75,000. This is the second consecutive month of weak employment figures, causing the unemployment rate to rise to 4.3%.
Economists say the US labor market is in trouble. The average number of jobs created in the last 3 months was only 29,000, down sharply from the previous level of 35,000. This situation raises concerns about the risk of economic recession.
Signals from the US labor market have many people expecting the US Federal Reserve (Fed) to cut interest rates soon. When interest rates are lowered, the US dollar usually weakens, and this creates conditions for gold prices to increase. The US dollar has now fallen to a five-week low.
However, experts also warn that gold prices increasing too quickly can pose risks. The continuous increase in a short period of time has many people worried about the possibility of a speculative bubble.
The difference between domestic and international gold prices is significant. The world gold price converted at the current exchange rate is about 114.73 million VND/tael, while the domestic SJC gold bar price is 20.7 million VND/tael higher.
In just two weeks, the price of SJC gold has increased by about 11 million VND/tael, an unprecedented increase. This morning, some small shops in Ho Chi Minh City and online markets listed the buying price of SJC gold at 141.5 million VND and the selling price at 143.5 million VND, an increase of 4 million VND compared to yesterday.
The price of gold rings and jewelry also increased, currently at 127.7 million VND/tael for buying and 130.2 million VND/tael for selling, an increase of 1 million VND.
Notably, the price of gold on the free market is significantly higher than that of major gold companies, the difference can be up to 8 million VND/tael. This reflects the unusual fluctuations and instability of the domestic gold market.
Domestic gold price this afternoon September 6, 2025
As of 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, September 6, 2025, the domestic gold bar price increased dramatically to a new peak of over 135 million VND/tael. Specifically:
DOJI Group listed the price of SJC gold bars at 133.9 - 135.4 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 1 million VND/tael in both buying and selling compared to yesterday.
At the same time, the price of gold bars was listed by Saigon Jewelry Company Limited - SJC at 133.9 - 135.4 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 1 million VND/tael in both buying and selling directions compared to the closing price on September 5.
At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, the price of Mi Hong gold at the time of survey was listed at 134.4-135.4 million VND/tael for buying and selling. Compared to yesterday, the gold price increased by 1 million VND/tael for both buying and selling.
The price of gold bars at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited was traded by the enterprise at 133.9 - 135.4 million VND/tael (buy - sell), the price increased by 1 million VND/tael in both buying and selling directions compared to the same period yesterday.
The price of SJC gold bars at Phu Quy was traded by businesses at 132.9-135.4 million VND/tael (buy - sell), the gold price increased by 1 million VND/tael in both buying and selling directions compared to yesterday.
As of 3:00 p.m. on September 6, 2025, the price of 9999 Hung Thinh Vuong round gold rings at DOJI was listed at 127.7-130.7 million VND/tael (buy - sell); an increase of 1.2 million VND/tael in both buying and selling directions compared to yesterday.
Bao Tin Minh Chau listed the price of gold rings at 127.8-130.8 million VND/tael (buy - sell); an increase of 1 million VND/tael in both buying and selling directions compared to yesterday.
