The General Statistics Office ( Ministry of Finance ) has just announced the socio-economic situation in the first 8 months of the year, with many positive signals.

The number of newly registered enterprises in the first 8 months of the year increased sharply in both quantity and registered capital. The whole country had 128,200 newly registered enterprises, with registered capital reaching 1.25 quadrillion VND, up 15.7% and 26.1% respectively compared to the same period last year.
In addition, more than 81,000 enterprises returned to operation, bringing the total number of newly established and re-established enterprises to 209,000, up 24.5% over the same period, the strongest increase in the past three years. On average, each month, there are 26,200 newly established and re-established enterprises.
By sector, the number of newly established enterprises increased the most in the education and training sector (nearly doubled), followed by the industry, processing, manufacturing, and transportation and warehousing sectors. Newly established enterprises in the wholesale, retail, accommodation, catering, and healthcare sectors also recorded double-digit growth.
On the other hand, the number of businesses withdrawing from the market remained high, with 160,900 businesses, up 19% over the same period last year. However, more than half of these businesses chose to temporarily suspend operations in the short term. Only 11% carried out dissolution procedures, actually ceasing operations and leaving the market.
According to the General Statistics Office, industrial production recorded positive signals from 34 localities. Nationwide, the index of industrial production (IIP) in the first 8 months increased by 8.5% over the same period, with some key industrial products increasing sharply such as automobiles (59.6%); televisions (21.4%); NPK mixed fertilizer (17.9%); clothing (14.7%); cement (14.6%).
Total export turnover in 8 months reached nearly 306 billion USD, import turnover was about 292 billion USD, the economy had a trade surplus of about 14 billion USD. Of which, the US continued to be the largest export market with turnover reaching 99.1 billion USD.
