Pepper price today August 30, 2025: Continuously increasing

Domestic pepper prices continued to increase for four consecutive days since the beginning of the week, with an increase of about VND2,000/kg compared to yesterday. This trend is supported by the gradually narrowing supply and the decline of the USD, creating favorable conditions for year-end trading activities.

The last days of August witnessed a sharp increase in pepper prices, bringing prices in key regions such as the Central Highlands and the Southeast to 151,500 - 153,000 VND/kg, the highest in many months. This fluctuation is the result of many factors from domestic to international.

An important reason is that domestic supply is shrinking significantly as the 2025 harvest has ended. Many farmers have no more goods to sell, forcing businesses and traders to actively buy, pushing prices up.

Export demand has also shown clear signs of recovery, especially from traditional markets such as the US and Europe. International shipping costs have stabilized, helping Vietnamese pepper become more competitive. Many importers are willing to pay high prices to ensure supply, fearing that the shortage may last longer.

The global pepper market also contributed to the increase. Pepper prices in Brazil and some other producing countries tended to increase, while high-value varieties such as Vietnamese white pepper were also recorded to increase in price.

In the context of increasingly scarce domestic supply and increasing export orders, pepper prices are forecast to remain high and are likely to exceed VND153,000/kg in the coming time.
