Pepper price today July 29 in the world market

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Community (IPC) has updated the prices of pepper of all types traded in the international market on July 28 (local time) as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices decreased slightly compared to yesterday at USD 7,129/ton (down 0.1%). In addition, Muntok white pepper prices also decreased slightly compared to yesterday at USD 9,965/ton (down 0.1%).

Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged from yesterday at $5,900/mt.

Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $8,900/ton. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price remained stable from yesterday at $11,750/ton.

Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l reached 6,440 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,570 USD/ton.

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,150/ton.

In the first half of 2025, Vietnam imported 28,296 tons of pepper, reaching a turnover of 174 million USD, up 57% in volume and 150% in value compared to the same period in 2024. Brazil took the lead with more than 14,900 tons, double last year, becoming the largest supplier. Indonesia ranked third with 5,574 tons, up 86%. Pepper prices in these two countries are lower than in the country, helping Vietnamese businesses take advantage of processing and re-exporting.

Vietnam's pepper output in 2025 will only reach 180,000 tons, down 10,000 tons compared to 2024 due to the lack of expansion of planting areas and unfavorable weather. Many old pepper gardens also affect productivity, making imports a solution to ensure supply.

Despite the increase in imports, Vietnam remains the world's largest pepper exporter, accounting for more than 50% of the global market share. In 2024, exports reached 250,000 tons, down 6% from the previous year. It is forecast that in 2025, this figure may decrease to 230,000-235,000 tons due to a decrease in domestic production. However, Brazil (61,000 tons) and Indonesia (55,000 tons) have yet to surpass Vietnam in market share.
