Pepper price today August 18, 2025 in the world
The global pepper market remained stable, with major producing regions such as Indonesia, Brazil, Malaysia and Vietnam remaining stable.
Indonesia:
Black pepper: Indonesian black pepper price remained at USD 7,208/ton.
White pepper: Muntok white pepper price is at USD 10,076/ton.
Malaysia:
Black pepper: Malaysian ASTA black pepper price remained stable at USD 9,400/ton.
White pepper: Similarly, Malaysian ASTA white pepper price remained unchanged at USD 12,700/ton.
Brazil and Vietnam:
Brazil: ASTA 570 black pepper price remained stable at USD 5,850/ton.
Vietnam: Vietnam's pepper export prices remain stable. Black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l is priced at USD 6,240/ton and USD 6,370/ton, respectively. Meanwhile, white pepper remains at USD 8,950/ton.

Major markets such as Brazil, Malaysia, and Vietnam are currently maintaining stable prices. Although Indonesia has recorded a slight decrease recently, this decrease is not strong enough to create a general downward trend for the entire market. Therefore, the export prices of black and white pepper in these countries are unlikely to change significantly.
Indonesia’s slowing exports in June could be a sign that there is a supply problem from the country, or that producers are holding onto stocks in anticipation of higher prices. If this continues, it could have a positive impact on global pepper prices.
Although the US import volume decreased slightly, the turnover increased sharply, showing that the consumption demand remains high and buyers are willing to accept higher prices. In addition, other markets such as China, India, and France are also increasing imports from Indonesia, showing the diversification of supply and stable demand from many markets.
Pepper price today August 18, 2025 in the country
This morning, August 18, pepper prices in key production areas in Vietnam remained stable after a sharp increase, while coffee prices in Binh Phuoc decreased slightly, reaching 140,000 - 143,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, pepper prices in Dak Lak and Dak Nong remained unchanged at 143,000 VND/kg after increasing yesterday. These are the two provinces with the highest purchasing prices in the country, along with Lam Dong.
Other localities such as Gia Lai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau (now merged into Ho Chi Minh City) remained unchanged, keeping the price at 140,000 VND/kg, and purchasing at the lowest price of 140,000 VND/kg. In Binh Phuoc alone, the price remained at 140,000 VND/kg.

Key production areas such as Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Phuoc can maintain stable prices without significant fluctuations. The main reason is that domestic supply and demand are still in balance, with no sudden factors strongly affecting the market.
Data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA) shows that US pepper imports in the first half of 2025 decreased by 0.5% in volume but increased by 50.4% in value compared to the same period in 2024. This reflects that pepper prices have increased significantly, but Vietnam's pepper exports to this market have decreased by 12%.
In the coming time, pepper prices may be under pressure from competition for supply among producing countries. However, with stable consumption demand and signs of slowing supply in some places, pepper prices are likely to remain supported and maintained at high levels. Investors and producers need to closely monitor the export situation and output from major countries to make timely decisions.
