Warning from France about the risk of cadmium in agricultural fertilizers
Regarding the issue of agricultural safety, experts and doctors in France have just warned about the health risks from cadmium – a toxic heavy metal often found in imported phosphate fertilizers. Cadmium has been found in many foods such as pasta, bread, cakes and breakfast cereals – common items in the daily diet.
Long-term accumulation of cadmium in the body can cause serious diseases such as heart failure, kidney failure, pancreatic cancer, osteoporosis and respiratory failure. Given this situation, consumers are advised to prioritize organic foods, limit consumption of industrial cereals and potatoes, and increase seasonal fruits and vegetables to ensure safe nutrition.
