Ms. Hoang Thi Lien, President of the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), said that the pent-up demand for pepper in the first half of the year will soon be released, helping the market recover. She said that importers are forced to return to purchasing to supplement supplies and meet production and consumption needs at the end of the year.
The market has shown many positive signs. According to VPSA's forecast, the second half of the year will improve, and in fact, pepper prices are gradually increasing.
Based on a report from VPSA, pepper output in Vietnam in 2025 is estimated at around 180,000 tons, down 10,000 tons from the previous year. The main reason for the decline is the lack of expansion of new planting areas in the last crop year.
