Rice price today September 13: Rice market fluctuates

On September 13, domestic fresh rice prices continued to fall. Jasmine rice exports fell by 38 USD/ton, putting great pressure on the market.

In the Mekong Delta, the rice market has seen many fluctuations. Fresh rice prices have been adjusted downward, while raw rice and finished rice have generally remained stable. Trading is slow, traders are buying sparingly due to limited consumption output.

Rice price details

According to an update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang, rice prices today decreased in some types.

IR 50404 rice (fresh) decreased by 300 VND, to 5,000 - 5,100 VND/kg. OM 18 rice (fresh) and Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) both decreased by 200 VND, fluctuating at 5,600 - 5,800 VND/kg and 5,700 - 5,800 VND/kg, respectively.

In particular, OM 5451, Nang Hoa 9 and OM 308 remain around 5,700 - 6,200 VND/kg.

Details of domestic rice prices

Export raw rice prices are stable, ranging from 7,400 - 8,600 VND/kg depending on the type.

OM 380 rice is at 7,450 - 7,550 VND/kg; OM 18 is around 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg; IR 504 is from 7,700 - 7,850 VND/kg; CL 555 remains at 7,750 - 7,900 VND/kg; OM 5451 remains at 7,700 - 7,900 VND/kg.

Finished rice OM 380 is currently at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg, IR 504 is around 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

In traditional markets, retail prices of rice remained unchanged from yesterday. Nang Nhen rice remained at the highest price of VND28,000/kg; Huong Lai rice at VND22,000/kg; Thai fragrant rice at VND20,000-22,000/kg; Jasmine rice at VND16,000-18,000/kg; and Japanese rice at VND22,000/kg.

Rice by-products

By-products fluctuated slightly. OM 504 broken rice decreased by 100 VND/kg, now at 7,200 - 7,400 VND/kg. Bran price fluctuated at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg, equivalent to yesterday.

Export market

Vietnam's rice export prices fell sharply on September 13. Notably, Jasmine rice fell by 38 USD/ton to 494 - 498 USD/ton. 5% broken fragrant rice was at 450 - 455 USD/ton, 25% broken rice was 367 USD/ton, 100% broken rice was from 319 - 323 USD/ton.
