According to information from many gardeners and agents on July 7, the price of green coffee beans was commonly sold at around 96,000 - 97,000 VND/kg, a slight increase of a few hundred VND compared to the previous day.
The coffee seller was impatient.
In Dak Lak , Gia Lai, Lam Dong, green coffee beans were recorded trading at around 96,400 - 97,000 VND/kg. In some other localities such as Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, the price was 96,000 - 96,500 VND/kg.
The above price has recovered slightly after many consecutive days of decline, and is also more than double the common level of previous years. However, compared to the peak set in early March 2025 (135,000 VND/kg), the current price level is still much lower.
The sharp drop in prices in recent times has made many farmers, agents, and even businesses very impatient. In many cases, they have a headache not knowing whether to sell early when prices are falling or continue to hold goods and wait for prices to increase.
"I bought it at 110,000 VND/kg and have kept it until now. If I sell it now, I will accept a loss, but if I keep it, I don't know if the price will increase. If the price drops further, the risk will be even greater," said Mr. Vinh, an agricultural product dealer in Lam Dong .
World coffee prices are increasingly unstable
Meanwhile, world coffee prices on July 7 fluctuated compared to the previous session.
On the London exchange, the price of Robusta for September 2025 delivery increased by 50 USD to 3,677 USD/ton; the futures also increased by 37-46 USD/ton. This is a recovery session compared to the end of last week when Robusta prices continuously decreased.
On the contrary, on the New York floor, the price of Arabica futures for September 2025 decreased by 1.60 cents to 289.60 cents/lb; other futures also lost 1.20-1.50 cents/lb, pulling the Arabica price down to around 273-289 cents/lb.
According to many businesses, the recent sharp decline in coffee prices was predicted because Brazil has been in a strong harvest season, not to mention that prices have been increasing continuously in previous months and reaching too high a level.
"The current price is considered relatively realistic, balancing supply and demand. However, the upcoming price movement is difficult to predict because it is greatly affected by seasonal factors in major countries such as Brazil and Vietnam, financial investment activities, and the political situation in the world," said an expert.
