70 years ago, on August 2, 1955, the Prime Minister issued Decree No. 566-TTg establishing the Religious Affairs Committee, a unit within the Government Internal Affairs Committee and directly under the Prime Minister (the predecessor of today's Government Religious Affairs Committee). At the same time, establishing a system of Religious Affairs Committees under the Regional Administrative Committees and Provincial Administrative Committees, which is also the predecessor of the State Management of Religion sector system. On May 27, 2005, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 445/QD-TTg on annually taking August 2 as the "Traditional Day of the State Management of Religion Sector".
Through different stages of development, regardless of the circumstances, with functions, tasks, organizational structure and name changing according to the requirements and revolutionary tasks of each period, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the State Management of Religion sector have always excellently completed all assigned political tasks. Especially, the important contribution and advice to the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Central Executive Committee of the Party to issue resolutions on religious work, especially Resolution No. 25/NQ-TW on religious work, demonstrating the development and perfection of the Party's innovation policy on religious work.
To date, the State has recognized and granted certificates of registration for religious activities to 43 organizations belonging to 16 religions; with over 27.7 million followers, accounting for about 27% of the population, over 61,000 dignitaries, nearly 145,000 officials and nearly 30,000 places of worship. Religious activities such as ancestor worship, mother worship, and village tutelary god worship are respected and promoted. Many religious festivals have been restored and recognized as national and international intangible cultural heritages such as: Hung King worship, Practice of Mother Goddess worship of the Vietnamese people, contributing to preserving the national cultural identity...
In Tuyen Quang , during the province's merger, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions was merged and consolidated to ensure effective, efficient and effective management. After the merger, in Tuyen Quang province, there are currently 396 community religious establishments, 3 religions, including Buddhism, Catholicism and Protestantism with over 90,000 followers, 215 dignitaries practicing according to 8 religious organizations recognized by the State.
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Vuong Thuy Hang, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, affirmed: Tuyen Quang Province always respects the people's freedom of belief and religion and ensures compliance with international conventions and treaties on human rights that Vietnam has participated in; manages the State for religious and belief activities in accordance with the Party's guidelines and policies, the Constitution and laws of the State; mobilizes and encourages religious organizations to operate under the motto "accompanying the nation", contributing to strengthening the national solidarity bloc, promoting religious resources to participate in building and defending the Fatherland, for the goal of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization. The province congratulates, acknowledges and highly appreciates the results achieved by the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions in the recent past, contributing to the stability, economic and social development, ensuring security and national defense of the locality.
