Meet the twin brothers who were valedictorians and salutatorians of the Physics class

For Tung Lam, not only was he the top student in his specialized class, he also became the candidate with the highest total admission score in the entire school, with 46.75/50 points. This result is the sweet fruit of the persistent, self-disciplined and determined learning journey of the two Dat Mo twins, students who love Physics, are eager to learn, and know how to support and motivate each other to progress.

Do Tung Lam has won many medals and high achievements in Physics and sports competitions.

Tung Lam and Tuan Lam's love for Physics came from the first lessons when they entered 7th grade. The two brothers said that at first, Physics attracted them because of its closeness to life, helping to explain surrounding phenomena in a logical and interesting way. Under the guidance of teachers, they gradually revealed their outstanding abilities and were selected to join the school's excellent student team.

Do Tuan Lam won the second prize in the Physics specialized class in the 10th grade entrance exam of Ha Long Specialized High School for the 2025-2026 school year.

Tung Lam shared: We love the feeling of discovery , of being overwhelmed when finding solutions to seemingly simple phenomena in life. Physics makes me curious and wants to learn more deeply every day .

From grade 8, the two brothers tried their hand at the Physics competition and won many awards at the city and provincial levels. In grade 9, they continued to make their mark with the Gold Medal in the Physics Olympiad organized by Ha Long High School for the Gifted, and also won first prize in the Physics competition at the provincial level.

Tuan Lam confided: We always try to study together, practice questions, and correct exercises so that we can both improve. I look for specialized Physics questions from provinces and cities in previous years to refer to and practice more. Physics is not just a subject, but like a passion that we want to pursue for a long time.

Ms. Bui Thi Kim Oanh, a Natural Science teacher and also the person who directly trained the two students in the team, commented: Tung Lam and Tuan Lam showed outstanding abilities early on and always maintained a spirit of eagerness to learn and progress. When I assigned advanced exercises, they often volunteered to go to the board to present, helping their classmates understand the lesson better. Sometimes they even acted as teaching assistants, supporting the whole class very effectively. The two students were able to study at a higher level, along with excellent students from previous courses, so they tried to follow their seniors' example.

According to Ms. Oanh, perseverance and passion for Physics are important factors that help students overcome the challenges in the recent important exam.

Brothers Do Tuan Lam and Do Tung Lam always receive support and companionship from their families.

Besides studying, the two students still spend time on physical education and sports. In grade 7, they also joined the Ha Long city team to participate in the provincial U13 football tournament and won a Bronze Medal. Ms. Doan Hanh, homeroom teacher of class 9A8 Trong Diem Secondary School, could not hide her pride when talking about her two students: Tung Lam and Tuan Lam always show diligence, seriousness in studying and high self-awareness. They are not only good students but also very sociable, always ready to help their friends. In class, the two students are always in the top group in terms of academic achievement.

In the recent entrance exam to grade 10 of Ha Long High School for the Gifted, the twins Do Tung Lam and Do Tuan Lam left their mark with excellent results: valedictorian and salutatorian of Physics, in which Tung Lam achieved the highest total admission score in the whole school with 46.75/50 points (Literature 8.75, Foreign Language 10, Math 9, Specialized Subject 9.5). The two students assessed that this year's exam was relatively difficult, especially the Literature subject with many new types of questions, good and meaningful exam questions, easy to feel and write. Meanwhile, the Math subject had many difficult questions, causing challenges. The Physics subject was not difficult but required high precision, making both students a bit regretful because of a few small errors in presentation and calculation.

To achieve this achievement, Tung Lam and Tuan Lam spent many months studying seriously, with a study schedule lasting from morning to night, combining team learning and self-study at home. Not only did the two students make efforts, the care and support from their families also played an important role. Their parents and grandparents always followed closely, encouraged them, and arranged reasonable living time so that they could have the best learning conditions.

Mr. Do Bien Thuy, the father of the two children, shared: My husband and I always believe in and create the best conditions for our children to study according to their passion. The two children have a very high sense of self-study, almost without needing reminders. I always tell them that studying well is good, but maintaining a spirit of eagerness to learn, modesty and sincerity is the most important thing.

Looking ahead, both brothers have clearly defined their study goals and dreams. Tung Lam and Tuan Lam said they will focus on pursuing Physics in depth, while also working hard to prepare for provincial and national competitions for excellent students. They also aim to enter the University of Science and Technology, majoring in Mathematics - Physics - English.

“We will continue to try to maintain our form, practice our knowledge and skills to not disappoint the expectations of our families, teachers and ourselves,” the two students shared.
