On the evening of November 28, speaking with VietNamNet reporters, the leader of the People's Committee of Chi Linh City said: Functional units are making efforts to put out the forest fire that occurred in Pha Lai ward.
Specifically, at around 3:30 p.m. the same day, the protective forest in Pha Lai ward suddenly caught fire.
Immediately after receiving the news, the security force quickly arrived at the scene to handle and control the fire.
However, by late afternoon, the fire suddenly flared up again. Local authorities mobilized the maximum force of police, militia and more than 200 soldiers from the army along with many specialized fire fighting vehicles to control the fire.
“The fire is in an area with thick vegetation due to the impact of storm No. 3, combined with dry weather, making firefighting difficult. Forces are deploying many synchronous methods, creating firebreaks to minimize damage to the forest,” said the leader of the People's Committee of Chi Linh City.
