On the morning of August 11, Secretary of the Nhon Mai Commune Party Committee Mac Van Nguyen said that after surveying and agreeing with the management board and households in Pa Mut village, the commune has arranged a new location in Na Hy village to build temporary houses, waiting for the construction of permanent houses in the resettlement area.

The Nghe An Provincial Military Command has mobilized vehicles to transport materials to the locality. From the afternoon of August 10, site clearance work began. According to the plan today, August 11, the armed forces and local people will build 13 tents for 17 households (some of whom live together) that suffered heavy damage.

The temporary tent is designed with a simple frame, covered with a tarpaulin, with a usable area of about 24.5m², and a separate kitchen area. In addition to the tent, each household is supported with a solar light bulb and a 2,000-liter water tank.

According to the plan, the commune will continue to review and build the remaining 17 tents for households in urgent need.

Nhon Mai is one of the localities most severely affected by the recent flood, with total estimated damage of nearly 760 billion VND. The whole commune has 276 damaged houses, of which 73 were swept away, 20 were severely damaged and 142 had to be urgently relocated. The work of overcoming the consequences is still facing many difficulties due to the fragmented area.
