VIDEO : Thanh Hoa tourism ready to welcome guests back after storm Wipha
At Thac May Tourist Area (Thach Quang Commune), after the storm passed, the management board immediately mobilized forces to clean up, check facilities, and ensure safety for tourism activities.
On July 24, Mr. Bui Van Tuan, Standing Committee of the Thac May Tourist Area Management Board, said: "Activities to clean up the environment, reinforce roads, and assign 24/7 shifts in the Thac May area are being implemented immediately after the storm to ensure the safety of tourists."
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Manh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach Quang Commune, said: "Up to now, the commune has not recorded any major damage at Thac May Tourist Area. Currently, we are urgently implementing environmental sanitation work, ensuring security and order to be ready to welcome tourists this Saturday and Sunday."
Ms. Bui Thi Ngan, owner of the homestay Bo pho ve rung, Thach Quang commune, shared: “Thanks to the detailed instructions from the government, we proactively stopped receiving guests early, moved our belongings up high, and covered them carefully. After the storm, the house and landscape remained intact. Currently, we have completed cleaning the homestay and are ready to welcome guests back to normal.”
At Cam Luong fish stream (Cam Tu commune) at noon on July 24, according to the reporter's records, fish have begun to reappear after many days of rain and floods due to the impact of storm Wipha. However, the stream water is still quite murky.
Previously, to prevent storm No. 3, the Management Board of Cam Luong Fish Stream Tourist Area had removed the flood drainage system around the tourist area and secured structures in areas that could be flooded. At the same time, the commune government promptly mobilized people to move their shops to higher ground, broadcasted propaganda to tourists and locals during storms to ensure safety, and divided shifts to handle incidents, coordinating with local authorities to ensure absolute safety for people and tourists.
Mr. Nguyen Van Trieu, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Society, Cam Tu Commune People's Committee said: "Currently, we are still deploying shifts to work 24/7 at the tourist area, ensuring hygiene, safety and being ready to welcome tourists back to normal."
Although the two-tier local government model has only recently been in operation, localities have demonstrated their initiative, determination, and flexibility in directing and implementing disaster response plans. Such effective operation not only helps ensure the safety of people’s lives and property, but also creates a solid foundation for the tourism industry to recover quickly after the storm.
