According to Reuters, Mr. John Schulman announced on social network X that he left OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT, to move to work at rival company Anthropic.

“My choice came from a desire to focus more deeply on artificial intelligence (AI) and start a new chapter in my career where I can return to hands-on engineering,” Schulman wrote on X on August 5.

In addition, the Information page reported that another director of OpenAI, Mr. Peter Deng, also left the company.

Meanwhile, OpenAI President and co-founder Greg Brockman said he will take a leave of absence through 2024.

The technology company has yet to make any comments to the media.

According to Reuters, the OpenAI executives left in the context of the company facing significant personnel changes, since computer scientist Aleksander Madry, head of AI safety, was transferred to another department in late July.

Previously, OpenAI's two co-founders, Ilya Sutskever and Andrej Karpathy, left the company in May and February, respectively.

OpenAI was founded in 2015 by a founding team consisting of Sam Altman, then President of YC Group, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman and several other members.

In February 2018, billionaire Musk left OpenAI after a battle for control and management of the company.

However, on August 5, Tesla CEO suddenly reopened the lawsuit against OpenAI's current CEO Altman, accusing the company of putting profits and commercial interests above the public interest.
