Over the past decade, Huawei has been constantly innovating to enhance the user experience with wearable devices. From the first Huawei Watch to the Watch 5 generation with X-Tap multi-sensor technology, all were developed with the desire to help users monitor their health with just one touch.
10 years of creating standards
In 2015, Huawei officially entered the smart wearables market with the first Huawei Watch - a product with a sophisticated design, resembling a high-end mechanical watch with a stainless steel case and sapphire glass. This product laid the foundation for a decade of development of the company with the Watch series in particular and in the wearables industry in general.

Since then, Huawei has continuously innovated and upgraded its wearable products, reflecting its strong investment in research and development (R&D) based on a deep understanding of user needs. In the Watch series alone, this continuous improvement can be clearly seen through each generation: eSIM support allows independent use on Watch 2; skin temperature monitoring with sensors on Watch 3; comprehensive health features expanded on Watch 4.
According to the latest report from International Data Corporation (IDC), Huawei has risen to the top position in the global wearables market in the first quarter of 2025, while maintaining strong growth momentum and leading position in shipments in China.
As the next generation in the collection of smart wearable products, and marking a decade of the brand's mark in this field, what new experiences will Huawei Watch 5 bring to users?

Huawei Watch 5 and X-Tap multi-sensor technology
Huawei Watch 5 is meticulously crafted with premium materials and a luxurious yet modern design language. The watch frame is inspired by the Kármán line - the boundary between Earth and space, creating a futuristic feeling at first sight.
Huawei has invested heavily in the materials used in each version. The 46mm purple version uses aerospace-grade titanium, which is 45% lighter and 1.5 times harder than regular steel. Meanwhile, the 42mm beige version uses 904L stainless steel, commonly found in high-end mechanical watches, even though it costs only 1/10 or even 1/20 of the price.

Both versions use the new LTPO 2.0 screen technology, brightness up to 3,000 nits, for clear, vivid images under harsh sunlight. The frame is only 1.8 mm thin, increasing the screen-to-body ratio to 82.5%, 13% higher than the previous generation.
The most notable highlight of the Huawei Watch 5 is the X-Tap multi-sensor technology. This is considered a breakthrough for Huawei when it first put the sensor on the watch bezel, allowing users to use their fingertips - an area with a denser blood vessel density - to measure physiological indicators more accurately and conveniently.
This technology integrates an electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor, a PPG optical sensor, and a tactile sensor. Thanks to that, users can perform many tasks with just a finger touch, such as quickly checking 11 health indicators in 1 minute via the Health Glance feature, or even playing interactive games right on the watch.

With X-Tap multi-sensor technology, Huawei Watch 5 allows users to measure 11 health indicators in 1 minute with just one touch. |
The smart hand gesture control feature is the first to be equipped on Huawei's wearable device, allowing users to double-tap to confirm options and double-swipe to switch between options. This allows users to easily interact with the device without touching the screen directly, which is very useful when hands are full or playing sports .

In addition, Huawei Watch 5 is also equipped with eSIM, allowing you to make calls and use the Internet independently without having to connect to a phone. |
In particular, the MultiSIM feature allows the same phone number to be used on both the phone and the watch, providing seamless connectivity in all situations.
Not only setting a new standard for smartwatches, Huawei Watch 5 also opens the era of wearable devices that actively take care of health, deeply connecting with every beat of modern life.
The product will be available for sale from June 25 on e-commerce platforms and retail stores such as CellphoneS, Hoang Ha Mobile, The Gioi Di Dong, FPT Shop, Di Dong Viet, Viettel Store.
When shopping during this time, customers will receive attractive gifts such as FreeBuds 5 headphones and 3 months of VIP membership on the Huawei Health app. Readers can refer to more information here.
