Comrade Ngo Chi Cuong is the new Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee.

On June 30, in Vinh Long, the Ceremony to Announce Resolutions and Decisions on Merging Provincial and Commune-level Administrative Units, Ending District-level Activities, Establishing Party Organizations, Appointing Party Committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Vinh Long Province and New Communes and Wards took place after Vinh Long Province merged with Tra Vinh and Ben Tre Provinces (with the new name of Vinh Long Province).

Comrade Le Minh Tri, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, presented resolutions and decisions to the new Vinh Long province.

Comrade Le Minh Tri, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court attended and presented resolutions and decisions. Also attending the ceremony were Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, former Politburo member, former Chairwoman of the National Assembly; and other Central leaders.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee announced the Politburo 's Decision on appointing the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, and Deputy Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. Accordingly, the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee consists of 83 members; the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee consists of 22 members.

Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong (former Secretary of Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee) was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province. The new Deputy Secretaries of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee include: Ms. Ho Thi Hoang Yen, Mr. Kim Ngoc Thai, Mr. Le Van Han, Mr. Lam Minh Dang, and Mr. Nguyen Minh Dung.

The new Vice Chairmen of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee include: Mr. Dang Van Chinh, Mr. Nguyen Truc Son, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh, Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi, Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien, Mr. Chau Van Hoa.

The new Vinh Long province after merging 3 provinces including: Vinh Long, Tra Vinh and Ben Tre. The natural area is ^6,296.2km2 (reaching 125.92% of the standard), the population is 4,194,633 people (reaching 299.62% of the standard) and 124 commune-level administrative units (including 105 communes and 19 wards).
